Well, after looking at Wolvrine for a bit. That swiss cheese move and nerfing his berserker slash seems…interesting. As a wolvy player, I was expecting a health nerf or attack nerf or even a change in hit box since he was so “scary” in vanilla. From what I can see, his bnb combo still seems usable and hit confirming berserker slash in to berserker charge shouldn’t be effected eirther. This just tells me to be more precise with my excecution so I don’t accidently use swiss cheese. Does anyone know if that move can be executed in the air or if it is a mash move, if so they gave Wolverine a new toy to play with >=) If the berserker slash has been nerfed of invicibilty that’s only a problem if you use wolverine last, he still relies on beam assists just like every other rush char. So if people think wolverine players are leaving him be, your dead wrong I’ll just adapt and change my method of execution as a good fan should. Heck, I still use Cap with all his glorious flaws.

Also, what a lot of people aren’t factoring is the fact that meta-game may have changed drastically. If the characters that are top right now have to work much harder to get in, the assists that are doing well-enough in this current metagame to keep people out also have to be dialed down with them accordingly. Otherwise the game may be too easy to turtle out. I’m actually surprised Doom’s Hidden Missiles didn’t get nerfed (based on the stream) given the nerfs we’ve seen so far with some of the top characters.

IDK if it’s just me, but it looked like Sentinel’s flight mode is slower.

This is probably the only non change worth mentioning: It appears that Sent has his health unchanged from the post patch world.

wow Ironman got buffed filght and quicker unibeam (his flight startup was already the quickest in the game) happy days are here IM players. lol at these changes though, the gae isnt finished i imagine so we may be seeing all these buffs on lower tier characters, but when the actual game comes out… nothings changed much. remember all those early versions of mvc3? chris and cap having airdashes, ammys coldstar assist was the horizontal ground one not the angled one… lol capcom basically trolls the community with these beta builds.

Before the tournament started, there was a competent Magneto Player. I could be wrong here, but to anyone else did it seem like Magneto’s J.H (Air-To-Air) caused a large knock back to the opponent? The guy could land J.H again after ADF, but he couldn’t land any flight combos.

ironman needs to be able to follow up after the missile cause he doesnt have many ways to launch people.buff him but dont make him MVC2 status

Actually that is his new Future Foundation costume. There is rumor they are going to put the new ultimate spiderman costume in as well.

This makes me incredibly sad.

I would gladly trade some of his damage for more health anytime.

plus with the normalization and the deicision to make X-factor more uniformal, X-factor sent is not as strong now, albeit it’s still likely that it’s one of the better ones.

I like food so when I think of chunk i think of like a can of jumbo flavored chunky soup. I don’t know what your personal opinion of a chunk is but it can’t be whatever happens to Haggar after an assist call. That’s more like a a few kernels of popcorn that fall to the ground and then you just ask for more popcorn to replace the ones that fell.

Well if that’s what you’re saying then what makes you think that Haggar won’t receive a nerf? You make it seem like the reason you played Haggar was solely because his assist gives you 60 frames of invincibility and a hard knockdown. Which I hope you like more about Haggar than how many times you can get free shit with his assist. LOL. I would never play a character solely because they had an assist that made them spin like a Russian dancer for my point. I’m just saying like you that they’ll buff Haggar up on point so you have more of a reason to use him than mashing on A1 or A2.

A near fullproof assist should have never been the only redeeming quality of a character period. Hopefully that’s not the case in Ultimate with anybody. Hsien Ko has it worse because she’s already what you’re theorizing Haggar is going to be. LOL. Think about the Hsien Ko’s that have buff up their assist so it’s half as good as Haggars.

Out of curiosity, if they are introducing more costumes and colors, are they going to allow one character teams?

We already see how this is possible through event modes in Vanilla MvC3. With at least 6 colors, this is possible.

Imagine the hilarity of having 4 Red Aremers on the screen at the same time, or three Phoenix Wrights.

Of course this shouldn’t be allowed in tournaments, but I would have a blast from this option and it’s obviously not hard to implement.

Speaking of Tasky, are his normal arrows still doing more chip than his hyper combo arrows?

DevilJin, I’ve gotten a decent amount of Haggar reverse OCVs. That said just like in Marvel 2 unless you were playing MSS, Row or SSCable; There’s still plenty of reason to have a character that your idea of playing is never letting touch the field outside of assist status.

Haggar’s my Psylocke, while Akuma assist is like Cyke, still amazing on point, but there primarily for the assist.

I’m totally fine with you being able to reverse OCV with Haggar and all that stuff. I mean I think part of the issue is people aren’t trying to put all of Haggar’s tools together to help him make up on point. With some buffs and learning more things about his point play that could definitely make up.

There’s nothing wrong with having a character that’s strongest when not out on the field but it just doesn’t need to be as braindead as Haggar. I’ll be fine once Haggar assist requires actual strategy to utilize. I was thinking either nerf the invincibility frames or nerf the combo potential on hit and it looks like they went for the combo potential which is fine by me. Nobody can throw anything at you that isnt’ a beam super for 60 frames once he’s out so find a way to make that work.

Astral Vision is faster now unless the universal X-factor speed boost is >45%. I just watched a Taskmaster fail to punish it form full screen with x-factor->Legion Arrows.

In terms of sent drones being faster to me it only looked like Sentinel came in and left faster but the actual speed of the drones seemed about the same.

On the topic of assists, yesterday it seemed to me that assist recharge time was reduced. As in you didn’t have to wait as long to call an assist again. I saw someone spamming Ammy bloom assist and it seemed that he could call the assist out more frequently.

Nitsuma was quoted saying you can’t choose the same character 3 times but there are new costumes and colours.

I think Morrigan’s j. soul fist recovery is significantly reduced.
