UMvC3 List of C. Viper Changes

Nobody else in the cast has a safe on block reversal for 1 gauge that will kill any opponent on hit…

That sucks about not being able to cancel specials into EX moves anymore. So are the rumors of her getting a new EX move true? Does anyone know about this?

Hold on, that was just my theory. The only thing confirmed is that you can’t cancel TK into EXTK. To me this suggests that EX canceling is gone, so you can’t cancel everything into EX siesmo. However, if on hit feints are indeed easier, this isn’t a huge issue as far as poking and hitconfirming with TK’s. Overall, I guess it’s a nerf, but we got something pretty good in exchange.

So who’s going to Evo we should just swarm the UMvC3 station and try to swap notes.

I’m going to be some testing with Viper but I think I’m spending most of my time with StriDoom.

I should be at EVO theoretically. >.>;

I was actually going to be asking if you’d be there Chrisis. Since you’re closer to the area than most of us. Awesome. Finally get some reliable info on Viper. Thanks for the Info K-Beast! I actually was thinking as long as they upped the frame window for TK cancel then i wouldn’t be so bummed out. Still mad that I will have to completely figure out a new BK game with her though since there are no more BK > EX.BK to make it safe in the air. Unless you guys could figure out if the recovery on the burning kicks is better for viper? Or something to that extent.

I’ll do what I can to test, though my execution is lacking and I mainly do incredibly basic things, so unless they made TK feints on hit dramatically easier my chances of being able to tell are minimal. :frowning:

Whatever you do, do not do anything too broken. Lets keep Viper a secret from Capcom…

Holy mother of god

Here is my list of stuff I’d like you guys to test if possible i’ll post the less likely stuff to test… Maybe i could just add to your guys’ list of stuff if ya could.

  1. Recovery times on Burning kicks. Air and Ground. st.H version is the only safe one right now on block. I don’t think they’ll change much here, but who knows.
  2. Hitbox and Property changes on burning kicks. This means any awkward property changes to the direction of a BK. Is it more horizontal or less testing SJF BK’s too. and right now BK’s are considered projectiles and do not get hit by counter hypers… hope that doesn’t change.
  3. Of course EX. Move changes.
  4. Cancel properties of all moves. Any differences. Is heavy TK not as fast as it use to be. is medium TK cancel faster? Probably not but who knows.
  5. Is Emergency Combo completely invincible for the first 2 hit and destroys beam type hypers?

I’ll add more when I think of it. But if you guys could do these I’d appreciate it! Oh yeah. And now that I think about it if medium TK is easier to cancel on hit then you have no reason not to cancel anymore. Which means quicker recovery even on whiff hits. Big Buff.

at evo 2k11, asked chrisis about tkxx ex tk, says it still works.

NEW MOVE!!!
viper has a cyclops laser beam that you charge up by holding an attack, stronger attack bigger the beam. ty to marlinpie for being the guinea pig

edit: tested it and beam is the same using both light and heavy.
Button swapping works like zeros buster
Ground only, letting go of the atk in the air causes charge to disappear

What are the properties of the move? hard knockdown? soft? recovery?

Lol Viper has a beam… I cant help it, this is fucking hilarious.

Omg, epic lulz. Can’t wait to see this shit.

Viper… with a Laser beam… wtf

Wait so Viper literally shoots out a laser from her glasses? o_0 I’m praying it’s not as corny as I picture it.

A viper beam…let me guess Hyper Viper Beam?
Not sure if being trolled by you or by Capcom
I’ll believe it when I see it.

Was anyone at the mvc3 Evo panel?

Edit:
Confirmed Capcom troll.
Keits just mentioned Viper’s new beam move.

I’ll allow it! I’m just interested in its properties.

Can it charge while in the air though?

Someone said charge happens in air but you can’t use it in the air.
