Totally random and off topic, but I once repurposed your user pic to create a badge for the Dragon Gym which I was the leader of in a Livejournal Pokemon league/group. Talk about a fucking blast from the past.
Back to Marvel, I tried messing around with Strider but he’s way too out of control for me. It’s like permanently playing on an ice stage in Super Mario or something.
Take your time with Strider. Trust me, I didn’t like him much at first but when I got the hang of him he was a blast to use. Seriously love his mix-ups, but I need to stop using L teleport -> L -> double jump forward L all the time lol.
Frank West - Like catbond, I wanted to get a feel for his level-up mechanic. It sort of resonated with me. I don’t know why. Plus the dude is hilarious. I need to pick up a DR game.
Chun-Li - She looks cool and she’s a rarely-used character. Yeah, I’m a hipster. Oh, and she’s Chinese. Dunno, I wanted to play a Chinese character. IF is white, and Lei-Lei sucks. So… yeah. Plus, dat legs assist. Helps Frank level up.
Doctor Doom- I felt like a beam assist would be helpful, and Doom is a badass. Welcome to the team, dude.
And they all have white alts, because I’m OCD and need color-coordination.
Why I play who I play:
MODOK: Mainly because I think he looks funny and the voice actor makes me chuckle.
Rocket Raccoon: Same as above.
Nemesis: Nostalgia
Deadpool: One of my favorite comic characters since his first introduction.
Anyone else is just to support these 4. Sadly they all suck have a high bar of execution. Well not Deadpool…Nemesis it’s defensive execution lol! Did I mention I hate the doom derp? Sorry had to vent suddenly.

I was wondering how long that’d take.
Ghost Rider - he hits like a truck and can combo from almost full screen. I have him on point because his mobility and speed isn’t the greatest (i dont want him to be my last man standing) but I use his zoning tools to punish and gauge my opponents.
Hawkeye - I wasn’t expecting to have fun using Hawkeye but the first time I tried him I knew I wanted him on my team. Great zoning, you can put alot of pressure on your opponent and force them to jump in then combo. Also Gimlet is a great way to punish someone who spams or follows the same pattern. His combos are cool too.
Ammy - I love that bitch. She has the tools to fight any kind of fight. Rushdown, keep away, or the your whole team just got blown up by a dog approach. I used her in vanilla, character loyalty alone would have been why I used her, but her buffs help and lvl 3 XF Ammy is ridiculous. Her XF buff makes her a great anchor.
So I found this guy online on ranked who had like 0 wins and 17 losses. Felt bad and decided I’ll let him have a win.
Until I saw him use Wesker/Dante/Vergil. Dunno why I didn’t want to lose at that point, felt like the guy is gonna tell me how I sucked or something. I regret it, should have let him get a win regardless of the team he’s using.
EDIT: I’m also so free to Vergil.
Haggar - Because he’s the fuckin mayor. Really though, I feel like Final Fight fans seem to care more about Cody and Guy and forget that the mayor even exists. Maybe cause he’s big and slow, or doesn’t have as much appeal as a prettyboy ninja in Nikes or a bro blondie in a jumpsuit and cuffs. Problem is, neither of them can piledrive a fucking shark.
Spencer - Dig the update look with the dreadlocks. Game could use more dreadlocks.
Thor - The least represented Marvel character in the game, yet one of the most powerful in the comics. Dude needs more screentime.
Cap - In a game of trenchcoats, guns and swords, we need someone who represents something greater.
Shehulk - One of my favorite Marvel girls. Frank Cho does justice to dat green ass.
Oh, I saw this earlier yesterday. Never thought someone was actually going to link it here. Sucks that I’m not familiar with that anime. It did remind me of the dude who says “WITH THE HELP OF KYOJI”. But that would only work for Bionic Arm or the Power of the Nova Force.
**Reasons for choosing certain characters for my team.
Team 1:
Pheonix Wright-** Because he allows me to unleash as many justice related puns as possible and because he’s god damn Phoenix Wright!
Akuma- Because as Akuma I combo like a boss, deal damage like a boss, have tons of options like a boss, he looks like a boss.
He is a boss.
**Doom-**Yogurt.
Team 2:
Frank West- Because he’s FRANK!.. F-ING!.. WEST!!!
Dante- Because he’s fun to play as and I haven’t even played any of the DMC game and he helps out my team alot.
…I hate clay pigeon though…

Iron Man if you want a projectile assist, Ryu if you don’t care.
No matter what, Ammy will always be my main.
Ever since I heard about her being released (I still thought the roster would be MvC 2 updated), I knew RIGHT away that she was going to be in every team I played. I couldn’t pass her missions until a few months later, she was one of my weaker links, and I had some terrible execution with her. But I stuck it out and became hell bent on learning her no matter what it took. I’m still not too good with her (I know the Glaive loop, but I still resort to her Reflector H mashing combo), but I’m still not going to switch her out.
Same with Taskmaster, but he’s a different story. It all began with his Aegis Counter, and how awesome it looked. So I used him with my only goal being to land that at least once in a match. Luckily for me I found out how good he really was and stuck him in with Ammy (which became a very dangerous combination).
Still have love for Hsien-Ko, but she’s just so unplayable that it hurts a lot just looking at her. I still am trying to make her work with Phoenix, but I’m having trouble.
Ever since Strider was announce, I was glad. My MvC1 main was back and it was time to kick some ass.
Tron - She grew on me in MVC2 then the Megaman Legends memories started flowing in. I enjoy her play style and her character. Her drills are also fun and fulfilling to use.
Trish - DMC fan but I don’t particularly like any of the main characters. I mostly enjoyed the series for the enemy designs and the villains. Trish had the most likable personality out of the characters who made it in (to me). If only Jester made it in…
Dormammu - Shuma-Gorath fan since MSHvsSF and he was my favorite in MVC2 but unfortunately, he didn’t resonate with me as much in MVC3 (I still mourn from time to time). Blackheart was also up there and Dorm initially had a similar feel when he was introduced (seriously, where are my tracking Purifications/Dark Holes!). But honestly, what’s not to like? The look, play style, personality, etc. were all there. Okay, there is one flaw. The fact that most of the crap that he does is fire-related is a bit uninspired. He did more than that in the comics…
Wesker - Same with Tron with the nostalgia and same with Trish in which I didn’t particularly like the main characters in the game. It was between him and Chris but Wesker’s pistol won it for me. Seriously, the pistol was a big factor
Hmm, for some reason I’ve moved to the Capcom side this time around.
Gotta admit, one wonders why they’re having Chen do the hyper guides still. Was he the only person they knew willing to do it?
