UMvC3 General Discussion: You can't control it

Sometimes I constantly go for grabs on Zero, just to hear his break away line, “GET OFF ME.”

Speaking about audio, I don’t like the fact the game will play the opponent’s voice settings online. Just…why?

…and that’s a bad thing? :stuck_out_tongue:

When I’m playing Zero, though, I don’t feel I’m playing Ichigo, nor the Black Ranger, nor Nero, I feel like I’m playing fucking Adachi. It’s alright if you don’t know him, though.

Calling him Zero-baby from now on. Bitches and whores!

Characters I tolerate in Japanese

Vergil: I just hate his dialogue. It’s all “I need to be stronger, you’re not strong enough, strength is everything, blah blah blah…” At least in Japanese I don’t have to understand what the guy is saying.
Hsien-Ko: Her english voice is annoying. Her japanese voice is even worse, but there’s no accounting for taste.
Akuma: His english voice sounds like he’s gargling.
Ryu: I don’t get it. Why is Ryu’s english voice so over-the-top manly? Is there a reason?
Zero: I don’t understand what the fuck he’s saying in either language, since all his attacks have japanese names.
Amaterasu/Nemesis/Firebrand: LOL.

Otherwise, I prefer the English because it’s understandable and I can actually tell what sort of tone the voice is going for.

this thread kills brain cells

on topic: HOW IS TASKMASTER NOT HIGHER THAT DUDE IS SUMMONING ARROWS, HIS CONJURATION IS LIKE 50+

Amaterasu barks in Japanese.
Nemesis grunts and says S.T.A.R.S with a Japanese accent.
Firebrand trolls in Japanese.

Wanna change it? YOU CAN’T. DEAL WITH IT.

Wait, what if Silver Samurai was in this game? Would he be given a Japanese voice choice? And didn’t Wolverine live in Japan for awhile?

Yeah, why aren’t more teleports like that :frowning:

Even when you set his voice to English he still says something other than the names of his moves in Japanese: Before Genmu Zero he yells something in Japanese that has something to do with “the act of cleanly slicing something in two” or something like that - it has nothing to do with the name of the move.

Of course not, that would make too much sense.

He’s a Canuck with an American accent. You decide what makes sense about him.

Not surprising, coming from the people who had Galactus yell how he was going to crush you when you defeat him. (Yes, I know that was a glitch, but it’s still hilarious)

Johnny Yong Bosh is the worst male voice actor of all time.

Literally the only reason I decided play Vergil even before Ultimate was released is because he is voiced by Daniel Southworth. Quantum Power!

I know it’s probably because I haven’t faced any good Vergils yet, but I’ve noticed that every single Vergil I’ve played online so far starts with a raw teleport, or a teleport that is very poorly covered by an assist (call out semi slow assist, teleport immediately behind me). I just wait until I see him disappear and then just casually start ABC launch assist relaunch or ABC qcfM etc etc. Can’t really do that with Wesker since it’s a bit more ambiguous where he’s going to wind up.

He might be annoying, but there’s that one line that makes everything right.

“I’m motivated!”.

I don’t remember DMC3 enough. I have no idea why, when or hell, if he ever says this in that game. But it feels so akward and completely out of place that I can’t help but love it.

Shuma and Vergil special dialogue. You really can’t top it.

When I first played DMC3 at a friend’s house much hilarity was had at Vergil’s voice. It’s so awful. It took me forever to get used to it. Everything he says is just so awkward and nonsensical and its all delivered with this Hayden Christensen monotone.

It’s even more monotone in UMVC3. grumble grumble power grumble grumble marshmallows grumble power grumble

They have special dialogue!? I can’t believe I missed it! What do they say?

Also shout outs to the Flames of Revenge not being able to roast a Marshmallow. If you played Vergil online before, you know what I mean.

Man, all these anti-Wesker avatars. Maybe us pro-Wesker users should start sporting an avatar of solidarity in response. I think Assist-Me Wesker’s expression says it all.
