UMvC3 Captain America Changes Thread **Only new information**

I think its a fair “nerf” - why does his shield slash have a hit stun exception and doesn’t scale? It’s ok - well probably maximize damage with more heavy up heavy double jump heavy up heavy combos rather than ending with loops. Well see - but prepare for some changes!

He still looks awesome in ultimate :slight_smile:

Not to nitpick here but I have people fall out of the middle of a shield slash all the time. Sometimes when I land stray hit + assist to hit confirm then launch, :d::h: xx light SS, jump :u::h: xx medium SS

I have had people get hit by the first hit of the medium SS and then pop out *tons *of times.

errr you gotta lose somethen to gain somethin maybe?

Why would anyone think that his old combos were still optimal now that he has double jump and OTG?

She-Hulk is known to just fall out of Cap’s combos all the time. It is frustrating cause… everyone I know plays her. Lucky for me I found a good she-hulk only combo.

shield slash loops work wonders on she-hulk, she has a floaty hit box so you are able to get 2 or 3 more than usual lol

I’ve literally never had the problem of characters falling out because they don’t unless you dash mid combo.

She hulk is among the easier because of her tall hitbox like he says - doom is the easiest imo

I don’t dash, and she falls out sometimes after the second shield slash. She is literally the only character I’ve had problems with it.

This is something that’s affecting every character in this game, hit stun deterioration is more severe across the board, the timing of combos are tighter now and combos that worked in the past are not going to work in UMvC3. They are trying to reduce combo video material, I wouldn’t be bothered too much until I get my hands on UMvC3.

i dont see how the l shield slash is going to otg, it doesn’t seem like that angle would work at all.

wait, so the air l shield slash is supposed to OTG in UMvC3? I’ve always thought we were talking about the ground version

I don’t know how it otged in past versions… Air or ground? I dunno. I haven’t seen it happen so i dunno if i even buy it happening in ultimate.

Well ground L SS follows the ground and has some decent startup right

making it otg (comboable midscreen crosses fingers) now seems like it would be reasonable

they’ve lowered many health parameters for characters so take that into account when you discuss damage.

Ground Light Shield Slash from past games. Just a simple otg after a knockdown. It was only used to end combos back then. But was completely removed in MvC2. For UMVC3 its sounding like maybe he can get a super cancel or relaunch off of it.

Feels like they’re making Cap closer to his MvC1 self. He’s gonna be solid imo.

I read your Sig about the good Cap. How does a semi-invincible Cartwheel work? I mean Cap’s Buff is uber awesome as a Cap player myself I need to know.

Hey guys on this post it says that caps "L Shield Slash in the air now hits OTG and it is possible to combo a hyper after it or relaunch.

So i guess that its the Air one that actually OTG’s. . . . and as for the whole wrong angle dispute. . . i think we just have to do a back dash then tiger knee it and it should be the right angle. Kinda similar to the setup i do with deadpool after my relaunch combo. . . .just without deadpool lol.
