UMVC 3 Chris Redfeild team composition

Assists, and matchup knowledge. Know how far away you have to be. Also, one of my favorite tactics has become encouraging a super jump with projectiles and laying stuff down when they do.

Like NefariousJoe said above me, assists and knowledge. Know your spacing too, of course you don’t wanna be throwing flame grenades when they are point black range because of the slow startup. If your opponent is constantly super jumping just chuck grenades while they are in the air, they gotta come down sometime and they will come down in a minefield of fire.

I have sentinal drones so a strat I use is I normally call drones and cover it with machine gun spray so they don’t random super sentinal, wether they block it or not it puts them in hit or block stun. The drones will still be slowly moving across the screen after your machine gun ends and that’s when I start to throw flame grenades, inching myself forward toward my opponent while I stand in the fire and throw more. Once u have a certain pattern down you will quickly see it’s one of his more effective tools many Chris players don’t use enough.

I see u have vergil on your team with Rapid slash assist, now I’m not 100% familiar with how vunerble that assist is but I mean u could try throwing flame grenades when callin that assist… again though I don’t know how easy that assist gets punished so be careful.

Against characters who typically rushdown towards you via tri-dash or wavedash (Magneto, Storm, Iron Fist), the easiest way to get an explosive out is to backdash -> flamethrower -> cancel into landmine or incendiary grenade.

ooh I’ll keep in mind the backdash! It seems useful for catching characters like trish or wolverine with their godlike crossup dive kicks…

Also, I’ve always wondered: is it more useful to have Chris with an anti-air assist, or zero with a projectile assist? The latter will ruin the dhc synergy between Chris/Zero and may give Chris a harder time on incoming mixups. (With Zero, I can often command dash upwards and avoid some setups.)

I Have to remember this…
