For Deik. Since I’ve seen that the polls have been closed i’m here just to give a bit of advice. I think it would be best to inform not just Nitsuma (Capcom) but Marvel more importantly.

I think everyone knows Nitsuma knows we want an update, hell I bet he wanted more for the game too but what can he do? He isn’t the main boss of capcom and he has no say on the Marvel side of the table either. There is a reason why there is no DLC character content on disc and it was pre-restricted however we may be can get a 3rd CD out in the future… however since that will take long and is also a wish to be seen i guess an update is the best thing. I assume Chris Baker isn’t good enough either… anyway, if we really do want something to happen to this game then it’s time we get marvel on the wagon.
Marvel IS the key. Maybe we should use some reverse psychology and say Capcom needs to buff their characters since their losing in tournaments lol

so apparently, after comic con 2013, marvel studios has decided to replace THANOS with ULTRON as the main villain in avengers2 (dubbed age of ultron). that’s an interesting turn of events. that robot is super badass, but i really didn’t think he/it was gonna show up in the marvel cinematic universe until after phase2 completed. so does ultron replace thanos as one of the most requested marvel characters for a new marvel game?

The most likely characters we would get would be ones from movies as most people have said already. Yet, I think something else to consider is Disney’s acquisition of Marvel. Disney makes the Avengers movies as well as the character specific movies like Thor, Captain America and Iron Man. Guardians of the Galaxy is also going to be them.
The X-Men and Fantastic Four movies are owned by Fox. The Spider-man franchise is Sony. I am unsure of where the movie rights stand with certain other prominent characters such as Daredevil (the Ben Affleck film was made by Fox), the Punisher (films made by Lionsgate) and Blade (films were made by Warner Brothers). I tried to research where the rights to those characters currently stand and it’s difficult to tell in certain cases.
That being said, Ultron is obviously the most likely Marvel character to be added, given the recent announcement. Although Thanos, Loki and other characters seen in the Disney films would also be on the short list. I do not think they’d give advertising to their competitors necessarily but since they’re all on the Marvel boat, perhaps that’s not a strong assumption.
I am a huge Marvel fan and a huge Capcom fan, so I am likely to be happy with any choice the would make. I have loved what they’ve been doing with Cyclops in the past few years of Marvel comics (particularly with Avengers vs. X-men), but I understand he’s not likely to be an addition to the cast.
Drax would be sick though.
As far as Capcom goes, I do not think I am alone when I say that I want more representation of Mega Man characters.
Those are pretty good choices. I’m surprised Venom didn’t make it considering how he topped every other poll. And Megaman too, even though SRK seems to love Sigma. Asura and Gene seem a little redundant as I’m not sure they’d really play all that different.
Trying to be unbiased, if we saw another 12 characters then based on what’s relevant, fan demanded and what would work in the game I think it should look something like:
Capcom:
Gene - Extremely fan demanded, and was on the shortlist for UMvC3.
Megaman X - With Classic being in Smash Bros, it’s fairly obvious that they’d use a different Megaman for this. He was just used for Project X Zone and Niitsuma said that if he put a Megaman in, he’d have used him.
Roll - Classic series still needs a rep, and Capcom love her. TvC moveset with MvC costume.
Captain Commando - He fits all the necessary categories. Unique character and he’s extremely fan demanded.
Rouge - Power Stone needs some love, she was considered for TvC and a lot of the other characters that were considered for TvC made it to MvC3 (Arthur, Amaterasu, Dante and Hsien-Ko).
Jon Talbain - Niitsuma was constantly mentioning him, they even gave Ammy a costume based on him. I could easily see him being on with an alt costume based on Ammy. I’m actually surprised he wasn’t on Ultimate.
Marvel:
Thanos - I know he’s been cut from the Avengers movie, but I still think he’s incredibly likely. Isn’t he going to be in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie now?
Cyclops - Insanely popular, and now more relevant than ever. Plus there’s only ONE Male X-Men team member. You can barely even scrape together an X-Men team of core members.
Venom - Literally tops ALL the polls (except SRK), who cares if it’s not the 90s anymore. Venom is still an important part of Marvel’s history and Spidey needs a villain.
Squirrel Girl - She’s surprisingly popular, and I think she’d be a really unique character. She was just playable in the FTP Marvel game so that could be a good sign. People also have been wanting more female Marvel characters.
Black Widow - Ultra popular, and she’s in loads of movies right now (and in the future). Plus fills the niche for much needed female Marvel characters. She’s not exactly a character I’d choose but I think she’d be quite high up on Marvel’s list.
Blade - Movies are being rebooted. I nearly put Black Panther here as I also think he’s really likely. But I really don’t see how they’d make him much different than an X23/Wolverine hybrid.
MMX isn’t happening because of the Zero DLC costume.
And hell no to Squirrel Girl. There are better people to add if you want to go for lesser-known characters. All she does is defeat much more powerful villians… somehow.
Honestly I would prefer Tarot or Serafina above all your choices. At the least you could build interesting systems into their gameplay.
Also Cyclops is a bum now.
I just want Anakaris in a modern fighter…
-Ironically, if past games are any indication, Thanos would have been God Tier in Vanilla because of meter build
-Ultron would wind up as an air-ok version of sentinel with a beam, 8 way air dash, and armored air moves
Remember kids, it’s a video game. They can make any character work if they want to.
If we were to get 12 more characters added this is how I would like to be
Green Goblin - The game still lacks a Spider-man villain. His arch nemesis should get a chance. It’ll be refreshing to have a non symbiote Spidey villain and it’ll show people that Spidey has other villains aside from Venom and Carnage and that it’s not all about them when it comes to his rogue gallery.
Loki - Thor’s brother and arch nemesis. Whom not only was the main villain in Thor, but Avengers as well.
Thanos - Will be appearing in future Marvel movies. Guardians Of The Galaxy and will also likely be the main villain of Avengers 3.
Ms Marvel - I’m astounded she wasn’t already in to begin with. She’s one of Marvel’s more important female characters.
Moon Knight - Marvel’s Batman and the game also lacks a staff user.
Psylocke - I don’t think she gets enough love outside the comics. In X-men Legends she wasn’t playable until around the last two levels and she wasn’t in the second at all. And she’s never been a main character in any of the cartoons. And don’t even get me started on X3.
Mega Man - The main reason I want him is that it will finally shut people up about him. The whole not being able to come up with a moveset thing doesn’t work considering he’s gonna be in SSB4.
Captain Commando - Throwing fans of the first two games a bone here. And contrary to what some people say, he and Viper aren’t that much alike.
Jin - About the same reason as CapCom. Plus his hypers would look amazing in 3D.
Jon Talbain - One of the most requested male DS characters. Plus Niitsuma did say if he could add any more it would be Talbain.
Gene - Also heavily requested. He could have just as many moves as Dante.
Date Masamune - If I’m correct the Sengoku Basara games have only been released in Japan. A rep could get more people in the US aware of the series. Kinda like how people found out about the Cyperbots due to Jin being in the previous games.
is there any way we can let marvel know that we really want these characters? capcom obviously knows but cant do anything about since marvel doesnt seem interested/concerned about this game anymore. WHAT PETITION DO I NEED TO SIGN?!?!?!?!?! srsly though, why wont they let us give them our money?
