Simply jump kick > teleport punch with human smoke or scorpion… he almost always tries to punch you after the teleport punch hits. I just chip him to death.

Thats what just recently found out, when I do the teleport he tries to hit me, but misses.
Let’s see if he doesn’t grab me after that.

Strategy question - whenever I do a ‘harpoon’-like move, I usually do a powerful chain combo, but this drains the run button and I lose the pressure game. Should I just uppercut and run up to keep the pressure on?
You can probably just mix it up. I play with Cyrax, and I alternate between running in and jumping in. A lot of characters have combos that can start by linking with a jumping punch, like you press punch and immediatly go into your combo. At least robo smoke and cyrax can do that.
Can someone please tell me how to do Mercy? doing friendships all day is getting old.

Aren’t there conditions, like you can only press HK during the last match or something? I had someone do it to me and I was like WTF someone here is actually good at this game.
I believe it has to be the 3rd round. But other than that your’re free to block, HK or whatever you please.
I do Mercy whenever I get the chance, no matter how close a game is!
You have to be outside sweep range, hold the run button for 2 seconds, then press down twice and release the run button 
SubZero has a real easy Animality if anyone uses him. Right upclose hold block and press forward up up. Polar Bear goodness!
To beat Motaro, I just jump in with punch and start a combo. Basically the combo is good for 2 reasons, 1) it does nice damage and 2) if he blocks it puts some space between the two of you, so he isnt in range to use his filthy grab and smash.

That thread is funny, though I do not agree with EWAShock about no coincidence that the best players “offline” are the ones in the top 10…UMK3, has practically 0 following anywhere except in Lex’s apt, and in Jersey/Philly. There were TONS of people playing that back in the day, but that’s just my two cents.
Also, how can you even say who the best players are when some of them are not even playing the game, and there are these little issues called “lag” and lack of a button configuration? I can’t play the game for crap on a pad, then the custom stick I had made (in fact, two different ones) go “Up” and “Right” by themselves randomly. I’m surprised I’ve even won as many games as I have online so far with my scrubby Liu Kang!
Don’t even start with the MKII crap. It’s not even a fighting game.
As for best players online, DreamTR, who do YOU feel are the best players and as of right now most of the top 7 is held by people who play offline, why does this seem inaccurate to you?
