3s just added Twelve up front and cut out the middle man.
And SF2 had Blanka at the start.
…and u obviously don’t know how SF2 blanka played, he was a great revolutionary world warrior like all of them. He had and still has a lot of fans, kids love him. Women love him. Tell me who thinks twelve is a good character? His visual design is appallingly bland, his x copy super is like the least creative ever, and he is annoying as hell in the 3s engine.
Anyways Capcom’s been making fighting games a long time, and not every character they’ve created is gold. I knock SF4 as much as anyone, but Rolento is a great character, Elena and Hugo are decent, Poison I don’t know enough about. Those 4 are all in all solid additions, and we still don’t have a confirmation of the fifth.
The only reason Blanka isn’t as hated as Twelve or other characters is only because he was a World Warrior. If he came in any other later game, people would’ve gave him the same shit and said the same “Capcom can’t design characters for shit anymore” crap.
Were you alive when he was released? It is easy to look at things before your time and say it is crap. However when I was a young kid, I saw SF2 CE arcade and guess who I picked? Blanka…cause he was an awesome looking beastman. Biting people’s heads and electrocuting people was so awesome, and hooked me to the game. Now tell me…what man, woman, or child would look at at Twelve and be blown away? Yeah that’s what I thought. Then if you picked him by accident and started playing him you’d only be more disappointed.
I wish Poison was a playable character in 3S.

The World Warriors have always gotten passes because they’re the World Warriors, simple as that. It’s human nature.
I lived by arcade cabs when I was a kid. And not once did I ever think “Hmm, Blanka looks cool”. The reason you liked him was because he was so contrary to the game you had to play him. Guess what? That’s also the reason a lot of people in my area and in general hated him. A green skin mountain troll of a mama’s boy (though most didn’t realize that last part because that would’ve required actually finishing Arcade Mode with him). He may have been able to slide by before, but now as more fighting games come out and more Street Fighters come out, you see how really out of place he tends to be and not in an endearing way.
People hate Twelve not just because he’s bland, which he is very much, but because his gameplay is also completely contrary to how 3S played. Blanka has the same issue. People who don’t have every matchup down will often say or have, a standard gameplan, a grappler gameplan, and a Blanka gameplan.
I’ll say that Blanka is CERTAINLY a better all-around character than Twelve will ever be. You won’t hear any objections from me. But in the grand scheme of things he still isn’t that great.
I come back to Twelve hate. I approve.
Blanka is the shit… completely different from Twelve. What would Street Fighter be without Blanka… I don’t even dare to consider such a question.

Honestly, a USF4 port for the PS4 is just gonna divide the players even more.
And I don’t think many people will buy a new console for a five year old fighting game.
If PSN works like xbl PS3 and 4 players will be on the same network so it won’t be so bad. As for how many people will actually buy it who knows. As for the whole blanka discussion, I hate the bastard too but he is definitely one of the most iconic characters. That being said all blanka players can go to blanka hell!!!

The supposed Infamous character has nothing to do with the 5th character reveal. Its merely an addition to the USF4 port for PS4. Also, Blanka was awesome as an SF2 character. Difficult to win with, hard to master. For me he only became annoying in SF4, though that game has its share of retarded characters (Fuerte, etc…).
CVS2 Blanka is worse than any of his other iterations

Why would he be tourney banned? Like Kratos? Once you become a street fighter, no one never bans a street fighter.
Because he’s not available on all platforms. Characters not available on all platforms tend to be banned even if they suck.
Sometimes he’s an awesome character… like in CvS2, and sometimes he’s just terrible, like in SFvsTekken
