Peter already mentioned that they know that it’s due to how the fixed unblockable Ultra setups from vanilla, so I guess they know what bit of the code is doing it. Worse case, they revert that change and we just get those unblockable Ultra setups back.
Great. For some characters it’ll be more Ultras to sit through the animation WITH less damage. …and Gen has all FOUR Ultras to use now. Xian wins again… :bluu:
Can Juri use both Ultras at the same time? It uses the same gauge
Red Focus is Rolento’s fault I bet. They don’t like the twirly stick.
I seriously doubt you’ll be able to use both Ultras at once. Have access to both during the match, but can only use one of them. Once you use, say, Gief’s U2, you no longer have access to either U1 or U2 unless you rebuild meter. And how often do you actually get 2 ultra’s built in one round?
It’d be pants on head retarded to be able to use both at once.
Please don’t spread potentially false information you are unsure of. It’s how bad rumors get started (“Dan has a floaty jump. Fei walks slower than Ryu” ect) I know it’s not your intention.
Large images inside to show it’s a false claim

Overlayed to show health bars are at identical positions
Ryu’s super does 300 at 100% so that looks right
Good news that the delayed wake-up was just a rumour
I meant having ACCESS to both of them at any given time it wouldn’t make sense to do that anyway. The amount of time it takes to get through the cinematic of ultra 2 would burn most of FSE
There is nothing hype about that…
Sakura has this to say:
“My Spinkick… not only is it the main part of my offense, but it also breaks armor! So fuck Red Focus Attack! Haha, Yeah!”
just quoting so i don’t have to type this shit out every time someone thinks sf4 is an offense based game. so much tech in this game is because of these very reasons which limit offense like crazy. still i gotta admit i’m looking forward to the changes and seeing what focus attacks were really meant to be. there are moves in the game that break focus by design i assume and i think this will bring that out. also you never know what crazy stuff will be discovered with all this new shit. personally i’m getting bored of this game so this is interesting to me.
I just realized W stands for Double U -___-
Is it really “Double U”? Wasn’t “Second Impact” called “W Impact” (“Double Impact”) in Japan? What do two U’s have to do with anything?
Two Ultras or double ultras
Silly motherfuckers making single letter puns. W… I get it.
Speaking of that though, I can only think of like one matchup where I’d choose having both ultras over the damage of having one.
No, no. I mean in “W Impact”. Obviously it means “Double”, but why? And if it’s because it’s called “Double U”, what does the U have to do with anything "Double Impact. They used W as well here in W Ultra.
does armou break works on red focus?
Japanese pronunciation of the name of the English “W” is daburu. Which sounds exactly like “double”.
Here, “W” is often added to anything to indicate 2x quantity and you see it at supermarkets, online point campaigns etc. “W point day” at your local supermarket means 2x points on customer cards etc…
In Japan W is commonly used as an abbreviation for “double”, because when said in Japanese both sound similar. Basically it’s like the Japanese version of 2x.
Unfortunately they don’t really get that this is a Japan-only way of thinking.
