You can change the speed in the options menu and when making quarter match rooms but it is default Turbo 3 (since it is based of the JPN version).
All the speed selection really did was cause confusion for people who weren’t familiar with tournament standards (Turbo 3 for Japan, Turbo 2 for all other region versions). Since USF2 is its own game I personally support that change.
LOL for talking about “tournament standards” on a Switch exclusive…
Since the game seems to be aimed at casual players that might remember playing SFII on SNES, speed selection is a must. Hell SFII Turbo on SNES had 10 different speeds or something!
And one of the things I hate about ST is Turbo speed, I’m more of a CE or Super kind of guy, so I like it slow
Not sure the snark was necessary but I and many other ST diehards will give USF2 a fair shake. That and it’s already been said by Capcom that if USF2 sells well they will likely port USF2 to a viable system. I agree that it does seem odd that Capcom would give speed selection options in pretty much every port of SF2 but this one, but this is Capcom we’re talking about ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I wasn’t being snarky, I do find it really funny. Even for a PS4/PC/Xbox game it would be funny to justify the absence of speed selection because “it’s the tournament standard” and speed selection “confuses people”.
I don’t know a single person in real life that would care about “tournament standard” in a fighting game to be honest.
You’ve never once ran into someone at the arcade that used non-default speed settings (Mostly capcom fighters starting during and after ST)? I did all the time. It’s pretty aggravating.
Nope. Not a peep from Hori. Our only short term hope is that the Brook team can get something going soon.
Definitely CPS1 music and bonus stages. I’m inclined to agree with studtrooper on its lack of speed settings being is its own game.
One dilemma I’m facing is I can purchase it at amazon for $32 being a prime member or avoid this game completely because it is not catered to aficionados or pro players.
For me, the Dreamcast version is the accurate home release on console with the inclusion to all the bonus stages and the ability to choose the 2/23/94 arcade release.
