Fantasy.
I’ll leave this here so you all can rage a little bit more:
lol, ok… If that’s the case then everyone should be switching to Vega and winning tournaments.
It would’ve been more fitting if j.HP crossed up instead. Either way, that’s pretty unexpected. I wonder why they decided to give a footsies based character with an acute jump arc, a standard cross up this late in the game.
Because one of the requests players had was a way for him to open characters up. It’s a major weakness of his, he can’t force anything really.
I don’t see what’s wrong with j.MP crossing up, that makes a lot of sense since he has the whole underside of his leg to hit with. Plus, it does a little less damage so maybe they saw that as a fair exchange.
Vega top tier? All credibility lost. Even if they did give us a new cross up j.mk, that in combination with the other “buffs” don’t make Vega come even close to reaching out and touching the top of the tier list with the tip of his claw.
Vega can’t touch anybody or anything with the tip of his claw… Literally. Kappa
Even though it would be more copy+paste from SFxT, how about switching his angled j.MK with his neutral j.MK and have that be his crossup?
From the looks of things, neutral j.MK for a jump-in looks like it would have more space to work in a crossup hitbox. I mean sure, neutral j.MK as it is fits where neutral j.HK falls short sometimes. Generally, how was that change in SFxT received?
That was also part of the request I sent, that they swap the animations to be like SFxT. It doesn’t cross up in that game but it looked like it hit a little further. Without a hit box viewer it’s impossible to tell if there were any differences between them.
Here we go again:
i want to die, seriously, my full day of hope :v
well, it did have some SLIGHT crossup ability, like on fei long and ibuki
Yeah, I did write this on the unity forum back when they asked us for suggestions. But I also said “add some more hitstun”. cst.hp hits only if j.lk hits very close to the ground and you press hp as soon as you land. Will depend on j.lk’s cross up abilities to see if cst.hp hits after it. Cause it won’t if j.lk crosses up only above someone head, it has to hit when we’re behind the opponent.
Everyone who asked for it on j.lk on CU was a jackass and I told them so. Good job, jackasses.
How you can see this huge buff as a bad thing and call people a jackass for wanting it is just comical really. Yeah, we did a good job if this buff stays. A very good one.
Sure. Good job. Enjoy your inability to do it ambiguously, zero blockstun and nearly no hitstun. Enjoy the zero effect it has on every matchup against any player with functional motor skills. Have yourself a darned tootin’god damn hootnanny.
The crossup would definitely be more useful on j.mk but even with j.lk it will be fairly easy to frame trap with cr.lp and situationally with cr.mk depending on height and/or if opponent does delayed button presses/cr.techs.
Overall I am positive to this buff, hope it stays.
jiLK crossup is pretty ass indeed. It will help? Of course. But its not any better than a 1f faster U2 nor it tries to solve any major issue.
It’s the same as… I don’t know… giving Gen an airthrow?
I was seriously not expecting a jumping crossup for Vega at all. It just seems… weird… to be jumping at enemies Blanka style. I’m not that impressed. In fact, I would trade the super buff, RCF FADC buff and jLK crossup just to have either crLP buff or EX ST buff.
I honestly think that Vega players in general have asked for very little (and gotten even less), compared to players of other characters, and what significant improvements they have received.
I would again like to point out that USF4’s flagship word was ‘balance’. Viper and Makoto getting a weapons treasury and Vega getting almost nothing is not ‘balance’.
“Combofiend says vega n guy r top tiers in usf?”
- … :-/
I typically want to be at the range where Vega can pressure with far st.LK and go for a low/high/kara throw mixup game with cr.MK and POM. Where does the J.LK crossup fit in this paradigm?
