It still has an ass hitbox and doesn’t work in most matchups. The active frame buff just makes it easier to time in the matchups where it does work.

What’s the point on rebalancing then? Are there going to be softbans or something in tournaments or restrictions to Ultra only versions?

That announcement completely invalidated the whole idea of USF4.

At least we get the previous less-nerfed versions, right? I mean, sure, even then he was iffy but still.

Vega Super was still good, Cr.MP was not yet nerfed, CH is still +0 on block, U2 was fast (7frames I think) but U1 was shit, and Cr.MK was slow

Vega Vanilla was fucking weak

AE Vega was shit

And now my hope for Vega Ultra died in the current build USF4

I just don’t get it. It makes NO sense. So they’re going to buff a bunch of mother fuckers and nerf a few people, put in new game mechanics to supposedly balance it but then allow people to pick AE Yun???

Vanilla Vega was under-rated. Bad… but not as bad as everyone made him out to be. I’m actually seriously considering picking him back up. At least as a pocket alt in some matchups. He had some nifty stuff Tatsu found back in the day. I’m also curious to see what other glitches will happen against some of the newer cast members. (thinking cody pass through glitch)

Though if we have the option to pick Super Vega, then that changes some of my recommendations. I don’t want to replicate that version. I’d rather it be different.

Guys… this is only one MODE of the game.

Tournaments will not be placed with the Select Edition Mode. They will be played in the USFIV, as it should be.

Sure, maybe there will be tournaments “4fun” in that mode. But that is not something that we should be worried about.

super Vega can put up a fight with Vanilla Sagat, and Ultra Vega with cr.hp can deal easier with dive kick characters like rufus and yun. Choose your Edition SF4 should be the tournament standard.

Choose your edition SF4 would be the most interesting game to play because SSF4 Vega, SSF4AE2012 Vega, Ultra SSF4AE2012 Vega, and to a lesser degree Vanilla Vega would be viable on a match up per match up basis. Defense vs Offense playstyles, in a variable dynamic scene makes for a fun game that isn’t stale after a few months.

when I explored hurt box widths in SF4, I found out that characters that have a wide stanace can occasionaly get hit by a cross up EX FBA after

st.Hp - cr.mp xx EX FBA.

Increasing your damage output. Bison always got hit by a raw EX FBA.


of course the scene isn’t going to embrace this shit, out of stupid fears of balance, and their inability to understand that Ultra characters won’t be rendered useless. Red Focus and what not really change things. However implementing -5 FADC DP accross the broad could ease the transition, but would ruin characters like seth/gief/etc who use that as OS mix ups.

…so people get Vanilla Sagat and AE Yun but we can’t get Vega buffs?

I read somewhere that Vanilla had higher damage output. I never played the game, but is that on stuff like normals? I mean, if the damage output was a good deal higher, then Vanilla Vega might just be a better poke character in that case.

Again, I never played that version, so I have no clue.

70 instead of 50 dmg for a (claw-on) crMP and 50 instead of 30 for the EX-FBA knee hit. That’s all. The crMP damage adds up though.

Vanilla Vega was one of the worst character in that game (if not outright the worst, maybe Dan?), and one of the worst characters across the entire series of games.

His combos didn’t work right (try and find a good BnB, I dare you), his ultra and super sucked, he easily fell prey to very exploitable tactics and he died so easily from the huge damage in that game.

He survived in vanilla because people had no idea how to play SF4, and the fact he could walldive loop Sagat.

Of course, that made dudes like Tatsu and Makoto really fucking amazing, because they were rolling people with a incomplete character.

Vanilla was also a broken game that died before people started using the really, really broken shit. If people knew about unblockables the way we do today, and a host of other vanilla specific glitches that were never used in competitive play, Vega would have been about as useable as Twelve is in Third Strike.

I hope its a mode like trials, that’s completely seperate from versus and online matches.

When the fuck will they release the final change logs? I don’t care about any of these if Vega will remain as weak as he is in the last change logs.
