I’m out. LOL. I knew this shit would happen. I was actually semi-hyped for Ultra after hearing they were going to try to make Vega good, but I knew they’d beat him with the ugly stick. His buffs weren’t all that crazy to begin with in the face of all the ridiculous Ken Overlord shit that was going on, I knew they had no intention of really buffing him in the face of that. Vega is going to get block stringed, chip damaged, frame trapped, and jumped on like a retard all day every day. DWU? Big deal, everyone will adjust eventually and simply wait before they attack to see if he’s getting up. Just pressure with a jab. No big fucking deal. What’s pressure? Nah, Vega doesn’t need any sort of pressure at all, and hey he doesn’t need any damage either because he’s just too god damn easy to play.
Well, it was kinda fun, but more frustrating that anything over the last 3 iterations of the game, guys. I thought I might take Ultra seriously, but ever since SSF4 wasn’t this series wasn’t really my thing to begin with and I was only playing because that’s all they play locally, but uh, yeah. Now I have no reason to give a fuck anymore.
Guess I’ll keep trying to get people in SF2, Alpha, and whatever else I can, but that won’t happen because Ultra cinematics and GRAAAAPHIXXXXX.
Blocked Cosmic Heel is +2 frame advantage if blocked on the first frame, -4 if blocked afterwards. Full move is now 27 frames total, down from 32 frames.
Ultra 2 is now 5f
Ultra 1 now has invincibility, number of frames currently unknown
EX Scarlet Terror has 4 frames of invincibility.
Normal Rolling Crystal Flash is -8f on hit (changed from -2f), but can be FADC’d on the final hit.
EX Rolling Crystal Flash is +4f when blocked.
To pick the mask up from the ground, stand above it and press down+2 punches.
Medium Rolling Crystal Flash is now 0 on block (changed from -2).
Crouching Light Punch is now +5 on hit (changed from +4).
Crouching Heavy Punch active frames increased to 4 (from 2).
Vega’s Super now hits the opponent while rising (similar to his Ultra 1), this hit will do 50 damage.
• Vega: He got many buffs, and in testing it felt like he got a little too strong, so he had some changes reverted, like the invincible Scarlett Terror and cr.LP having an extra frame of hitstun. It was noted that his Super hitting on the way up is a big buff, as he can combo into it quite easily now.
To be honest, I would rather have the EX RCF crMP link than the Super with launcher.
Who is going to save 4 meters for 300 of dmg when you can use just ONE to do 180?
Combo a RCF, clHP or a crMK crMP into 400 of dmg sounds cool. But EX RCF crMP xx EX FBA between a crMK xx Hadouken does the same amount of damage, at the cost of half of the meter. I find myself having 2 meters quite often. But 4 meters? Thats pretty rare. Probably because when I have more than two meters I don’t care about meter management and I start using CH EX ST and so on, which would probably change in USFIV. But that doesn’t change the fact that the buff of Super is far from being considered “great” by me.
And there is also the EX RF that it seems that its going to crumple at lvl 1. So you now will have a really powerful tool to use when you have 3 meters as well. It will scale. Badly. But its not going to be far from the damage of super and it will deal stun as well.
tl;dr : Fuck Rolling Izuna Drop.

Leaving EX RCF alone.
Having crLP back to +5 on hit.
And +1f of blockstun at CH would suffice to make me still want to play this game. Because I’d feel like if Claw would be going to be at the same tier he is nowadays.
Invencible EX ST would be really cool to make him more competitive, though.
I’ve been saying the super buff is retarded all along. I’ll never have 4 meters in a serious match since there are better usages of it elsewhere. Vega super is to troll with when you clearly outclass an opponent. And hopefully, they don’t back dash.
If they really wanted to buff our Super they should remove RID and give us Scarlet Mirage or Red Impact. THOSE would be useful. I mean LOOK at Red Impact. It’s beautiful!
Red impact is the genesis of his U2. All the original chars have their original supers.
I’m sure that he really wrecked some characters internally with his changes and had to be reverted, they decided to go back to something that worked than risk the havoc he was causing.
I REALLY REALLY doubt it was the +2 he got from blockstun on his crouch LP. I’m sad they jumped back that far.
But seriously, why in the world would you give Vega any nerfs at all? I think that most of us can agree that this is overall a nerf: adding two active frames to a move with a horrible hitbox and comboability to a super that we will never use doesn’t compensate for the loss of one of his few damage options. He’s a character with some major problems and nothing is being done to address it. Leaving him as-is in a game like Ultra, where everyone is wildly buffed, is already one of the worst thing you could do for him, letting alone nerfing his ass. This is why I insist that so far we’re looking at a bottom-tier Vega in Ultra.
You’re preaching to the choir, dude. I’ve yet to hear a serious, well-constructed argument about the justification for these nerfs and buffs. It’s all bullshit.
What are you talking about? DWU will take care of all our dive kick problems. And if that doesn’t do it, we can RF Rufus all day every day. Dive kicks? Pssshhhhh. Plus Rufus got like 1 million frames of recovery on his specials. He’ll never be able to pressure anyone again.
Just think how great it will be to have a nerfed CH to pressure him with. Plus all that frame advantage on hit that we have now and how easy it’s going to be to do our combos. Rufus doesn’t stand a chance. It’s not like Rufus doesn’t have invincibility on EX moves, so we can just jump right on top of him, in his face, forever. Japan is right, Vega is TOO STRONG.
