Well wtf, I could have sworn it was because I hated using U2 because the command was motion and I sucked at doing motion commands when it first came out, and then changed in AE. I wonder what move it was then and who I was using and hated doing that input with… I just checked my SSF4 manual and it’s the same input as always. Now my mind is blown. Maybe this working 2 jobs is starting to get to me too much.
I would U2 to only be a back charge. I would like to be able to walk backwards while still being able to use that. Every other charge character has this tool and it’s actually kinda underrated (Balrog can get some mileage out of walking back then U1 to punish fireballs, for an example).
Mask pick up: Mask must be picked up with 2+PP
Crouching heavy punch: Attack is active longer (2F->4F)
EX Rolling Crystal Flash: Advantage on hit reduced (4F->2F)
Bloody High Claw: Hitbox extended on the top of the attack
Splendid Claw: Starts up faster (8F->7F)
Super Barcelona Drop: Hits on the way up
Super Barcelona Drop: Damage has been reduced (100*100*200->100*100*100)
Super Barcelona Drop: Gauge is lost when the super is inputted "
Three slight buffs and a slight nerf. Yeah, gj Capcom, Vega mediocre tier again.
On the other hand, sure, let’s buff the hell out of Evil Ryu, Sakonoko isn’t doing enough damage with him already. I actually don’t have a problem with E.Ryu being buffed, it’s just that I don’t understand the irrational fear of making Vega too powerful, since the core mechanics of SFIV are actually a good enough check to his potential.
Oh, well, I’ll still use him, but depending on how she turns out to be, I might end up maining Elena instead.
Seriously, not cool. Why does Capcom hate Vega so much? I really hope these changes don’t make it in to the final build, that they’re just seeing if Vega needs these buffs (AND HE DOES).
So you deny Vega easier cr.LP linking (as opposed to near impossible unless you mod your pad/stick), his first true reversal (without Splendid Claw) in YEARS and deny him an improved Cosmic Heel as a means to get in.
Also, I was hoping it was just a typo, but you really did nerf the frame advantage on EX Rolling Crystal Flash. A comboable Super Combo doesn’t replace that, as that will most likely just be a round finisher, whereas Vega prefers using EX moves instead in his BnBs.
Essentially, all Capcom wants Vega to do is throw all day and nothing else.
I’m sure he’s not the worst, and some other cast members have recieved FAR, far worse. …I am kinda dissapointed but at least we kind of got an anti-air.
I can see Vega being solid because of that, and a few system changes. [DWU, possibly double ultra, I guess.] and the shoto’s being nerfed as a whole/anyone with a shoryu FADC.
I’m simply mad. If these changes are true, if they have taken our most damaging combo by reducing ex.roll on hit, taken back ex.st inv., taken back jab +5, then I will drop this game, cause the char I’m playing the game for will be worse than Dan, will be the worst character in USF4. I hate Combofiend for this. Just ruined the thing he touched. Everyone’s eyes must be blind for not seeing the stupidity in this.
He’s going to be a complete character that’s much worse than Dan. This isn’t even hyperbole, Vega is going to suck on virtue of the fact that the rest of the cast is getting buffed to hell and he’s getting nothing.
Are you sure you’ve been looking at the same list as everyone else? A select few characters actually kept their [ridiculous mind you] buffs. Many of them have a tonne of nerfs or a pointless buf or two.
Just look at Bipson, or Adon, or Yun. I’m only pointing out a few, but there’s a lot of characters that got completely shit on. And again, I’ll point at the system changes and etc. Vega will not be bad. I think he’ll be about the same tier he is now, though.
Edit: And this isn’t even the finalized build yet, either. Game hasn’t released even. We could get a few stealth buffs or something before Ultra is out.
