Ultimate MvC3 Practice/VS Mode Wishes?

A few off the top of my head.

  1. More guard options, like low/mid only, first guard, alternating guard etc, it would allow you to experiment and practice in more situations you can’t currently practice in. Other things like a delayed advanced guard would also be nice.

  2. Ability to change team order during training, it’s useful if I want to practice with another character or test my team’s structure in a different order as otherwise I lose the use of the reset function as I have to keep re switching things around, it gets quite annoying during long practice sessions when I simply want to press reset and can’t because my team isn’t in the right order.

  3. Ability to pause the game and remove the menu window so I can see the still action behind, it’s useful for analyzing situations and is something ASW games have had for a long time now.

-Able to practice against another human online
-display hit and hurt boxes
-longer recording function
-have taunt disable such that reset is a single button press
-able to pick player 2 side as opposed to having to maneuver to that side to practice (this only matters if you’re resetting training mode a lot)

OH OH OH OH…i forgot one

Ability to cancel X-factor in practice mode. When I’m testing comboes I get tired of waiting for the time to run out of resetting the screen.

A couple of things that would be greatly appreciated for me.

-Something tekken had in 5 and I believe still has in 6, haven’t checked recently, is an option to see the hitstun of your character when you’re being hit or attacking. When you use left punch it would color your character purple and wouldn’t go away until you’re character was done with recovery of the move. It helped me learn which moves were safe and which moves that appeared safe actually weren’t. Sometimes reading +5 frames and -8 frames isn’t really that helpful for newbs trying to figure out what’s a safe move and what’s not.

-The ability to get rid of the menu screen whenever you paused. Whether it’s vs, arcade, training or whatever. If you can pause and I press select/back/L1+L2 or whatever it should get rid of the screen and just show the game in the frozen state.

-More options to give the dummy, like different high low gaurds (can’t remember that being there), on floor state, Crossover Counter state (where they block and immediately do a crossover counter). Stuff like that. Especially the crossover counter state. I think it would be nice to try and find out how to punish certain assist that come out invincible when that happens.

Press Select & Start at the same time, How hard can it be…

Capcom games should def. include an actual tutorial mode for people new to the games. MVC3 IMO wasn’t really that crazy to figure out, but for E.G With SF4 you can do a lotttt wrong and the learning curve at first can be pretty slow. Blazblue…once again does that + everything else perfectly. I don’t even play the game much, but I wish it was rewarded a bit more with similar to CC sales just for doing the buttons, netcode, modes, character variety, game mechanics right.

Practice mode IMO is perfect for MVC3, it already has a tonnn of options. Hitbox indicators would be cool, but I like figuring that stuff out myself as well.

  • Replays in general for online
  • ‘‘When you use left punch it would color your character purple and wouldn’t go away until you’re character was done with recovery of the move’’ Yes, Tekken did have that. Good stuff. Now that I think of it, I think Tekkens training mode might be butta. But diff. games.
  • A rematch button if your Lobby population is only filled with 2 people.
  • Or if not the above, in player match a seperate indicate button ‘‘Like press X to invite friend’’ while you’re searching. (I am aware you CAN actually invite your friends already during player match searching but how the hell was I suppose to know if I hadn’t accidently watched a vid about it lol)

*I wish there was actually a rewind feature in Training mode. I main Dante and nothing is worse than trying to figure out new combos (Dante is all about style after all) and messing up, then having to restart from the very beginning. I understand that practicing the whole combo makes it easier for when you’re in a real match but if I want to just figure out new combo enders, I don’t feel like doing the same set-up several times.

*Online Practice would be awesome since I was just trying to teach this guy a combo in Player Match the other day. Didn’t work out so well.

*Hitboxes and Frame Data would be AWESOME to have. BTW, there’s a guide for Android phones that have all the current frame data but it might be outdated once UMvC3 comes out.

I heard they’re making a new bible when UMvC3 goes to retail.

Gimme these and online training and it’s gravy.

…I don’t get ito_O

lol@ whoever said if 3s can do it why can’t it be done here

just lol I don’t even know were to begin

“Bible” refers to the Brady Strategy guide for MvC3, which is regarded as a great source of information for anything but combos. It has move damage, frame data, and gives good descriptions on a character’s playstyle and on the whole is well written and full of information.

Going to retail means when UMvC3 can be found on the shelves of your local gamestop.

Thanks bro, I just didn’t understand what you meant by “Bible.” I skimmed through the previous version and it definitely gave me a LOT of info about Dante that I would’ve never thought of. I’d still buy it now if I wasn’t trying to save for vacation.

Trying X-factor corner combos/setups. Start + select would make me have to reset the position all over again. Pushing the ai back into the corner.

Shut up. I wasnt even talking to you.

You can hold left or right when you reset to start at a desired corner.

No you can hold left or right to reset to the opposite side.

I wasnt talking about resetting to begin with. I was talking about the ability to cancel X-factor instead of standing there waiting on it to run out so you can use it again. Obviously I was pressing start + select and it’s becoming tedious.

Yup. I advise holding left/right before pressing Start+Select so you don’t accidentally go into the menu and mess up stuff.>:(

No, it resets you in the left or right corner. It’s just as good if you need them in the corner and don’t want to wait for XF to run out or reset normally and push them there.

BTW, pressing P1 or P2 while pressing Start+Select also resets with your point character being changed to the respective assist.

Oh ok. What button do you press to reset X-factor?

Weirdly, there isn’t one but I was saying, if you’re trying to practice XF corner combos and stuff, holding left/right and pressing Start+Select resets you in the corner so it’s essentially the same as “cancelling” XF.

If you hold left or right when you reset with start+select you start off in their respective corners.

Longer recording time please!
