I’m pretty happy with iron man’s increase range in most of his moves, and the new dash is quite good as a sky approach. I’m just still confused as to why they made him so hard to hit his bnb (assuming the fly combos are intented to be his bnb) and it has to consider the opponent’s weight. While most of the casts can just hit confirm and has one bnb for every body… like Wesker Vergil…

Yeah that I have no clue about. I don’t know why they decided Iron Man would take insane execution compared to the rest. Maybe they’re paying homage to his MVC2 incarnation that could body entire teams with 1 hit if you had perfect execution? No idea.

In MvC2, I don’t think they had all those broken infinites in mind when making the game. For the MvC3 series, they were aware how good people will get at this game in the 1st place. I think a lot of higher execution characters gets rewarded for higher damage for doing extended combo, but their easier ones do less damage compare to the more basic characters. For example, C. Viper/Magneto/Storm needs higher execution combos to match wolverines/wesker/akuma’s. However, some of the lower tier characters need higher execution AND they don’t match the damage output of the basic characters. Hsien-ko, Morrigan Iron Man come to mind. Usually, lower damage characters have more options of movement/zoning/mixup/reset to justify the lower damages output, but it’s not really the case in MvC3 not UMvC3 :frowning: Maybe these characters are just not well represented at higher level so their potential hasn’t been fully explored?

I wouldn’t call Iron-Man a lower damage character… he easily outdamages Wolverine and Wesker if you put the work in on the combos. But yeah, Hsien Ko and Morrigan are screwed :rofl:

Also, as Doctah Eric pointed out, you can chain assists ad infiniatum (read x2) at the end of your combo to get the damage up really high.

so from max range with crouching medium into standing heavy should you adjust your fly combo, will it still work?

Sweet, that’s the one i’ve been practising, just struggling with the jumping medium part after the unfly falling H, but I read in the other thread you said you just have to be really quick, so I’l keep working on it!

Yep you gotta be really quick with bothjB’s and the Unfly jC part is actually kinda a plinking motion. It works with IM because he doesn’t have a j214 special to cause input problems (like Nova &^@$).

I really can’t find any videos of anyone actually PLAYING Iron Man in UMvC3. I mean, using in a real match and not just doing combos in training mode.

Me, @ 15 minutes in 2nd page. I get blown the fuck up, though. I hardly had enough time to get adjusted to the new intricacies of my team and no clue what I was doing with any of my characters. Hopefully I can find the synergy by next week. Firebrand just feels random.

Wow that was a really nice combo you did in the first game! It was sad seeing you lose to firebrand like that in the last game. I like your movement with IM, I’m just starting with him and I think I might put him in 3rd place now.

Thanks, man. I really need to get into the lab with Firebrand, because I know next to nothing about the character. I’ve been stalling because I find the character so uninteresting on the surface :confused:

Iron Man in this game can only be placed third, IMO. He brings little to teams outside his Assists.

I think I can do okay with him for now, but I’m starting to think he’s truly just a bad character in this game, which is ironic, considering how I felt he was a stealth top tier in Vanilla while everyone else felt he was low/lower tier. No character is truly worthless in a game with such high damage and absurd hitboxes, though. Plus, I get to choose 3.

Note on Modified Krispy Combo, It does not work on small characters when you do Unfly H to the Jumping series. You have to change it to Unfly Up H ( but this works on everyone anyways) so no biggies.
