he showed something very important - 2B, 5C, fly, j.B works. we already knew everything else.
i’ve been thinking about what we’re gonna have to do off of air throw in ultimate. if his air dash can’t cover that range fast enough, we’re gonna have to try some very tough links. something like C bomb, delay j.C, air dash j.B, j.2C, launch. this could make his air throw pick up even more finicky and height-specific than it already is.
Good, I suspected that 2B, 5C, Fly, jB would work. That will give us a decent damage boost in addition to better minimums.
2B>5C>Krispy Kreme sounds like his ground abare/ground hit confirming got improved, especially since his 5C got bigger. Good for Tony.
Another thought, the loss of the double jump will make j8C more useful. Probably good for fly loops, something like, (jB, j8C, A+B)xN

According to Max the recovery off Smart Bomb is much, much faster, so that’s something to keep in mind. I’m not sure if his wonky air dash is going to make air throw combos possible though, but I thought it was more due to the recovery of Smart Bomb? I might be wrong there.

in vanilla my team is IM/tron/arthur
well tron is getting nerfed HARD so that bitch is getting benched… problem is that now i have an open slot… of course i could just fill it with some bs S tier… but nah dont wanna do that…
so i was thinking how about iron fist? supposedly he has a high priority assist in that damn kick thing, which may sub for tron, then he gets arthur daggers to cover for his shitty get in abilities. basically tron wasnt necessarily to succeeed much on point in my other team… she was just there to pick up whatever meter she could in prep for dark arthur… unless she landed a combo which was death pretty much guaranteed.
so how do you guys think IF might do with IM?

I’ve been thinking, and I feel IM may actually be a better anchor this time around. IM might be able to lame out a little better by spamming cr.H>unibeam during Lv. 3 XF. If he has 3+ hyper meter on top of that, he can force people to not try to punish his spam with the risk of eating a near full-screen width Lv. 3 hyper. Most chicken blockers and superjumpers would give IM enough of an opening to start some mix-up, while people trying to jump at him can be baited with flight cancel or repulsor blast. Teleporters with assists and more powerful zoners I feel will (still) give him trouble, but I’m still inclined to believe he’s stronger as an anchor in Ultimate.
Ghost Rider (HellSpike)… just occurred to me, should be a good tron replacement.
yeah, now that you mention it. mobility might be an issue… it will depend on how well IF synergizes with arthurs daggers. i might run IF at anchor too… arthur can sit at mid spot with safe on block super for safe tags via dhc and gold armor assist will really pump up neutral game, plus dont have somewhat gimmicky dark arthur at anchor. will have to see whether or not dark IF has what it takes to play that role.

Ummm, WTF? That is all sorts of bullcrap if this is true. IM was able to ADC his j.H during flight in the older umvc3 builds.
Edit: In Maximilian’s change log vid, IM was able to ADC his j.H during flight well enough. Either that, or IM has multiple flight-canceling in the air. Here’s the demonstration
OK wtf?. I can dash cancel his j.H’s in flight mode if I launch my opponent and start doing a bunch of hits. But I can’t dash cancel if I turn on flight mode and try to hit a grounded opponent with jump d+h? wth is going on here?
You can do c.L > c.M > s.H > S > sj.M > sj.M > sj.H > flight > fly M > fly H > dash. But you can’t just turn on flight and hit them with j.H > dash
::lets out a big sigh of relief:: Man you scared me for a minute there. What’s happening in your case is that IM doesn’t reach his air dash height limit by just initiating his flight on ground. You have to be about 1/2 way up from a regular jump before IM can airdash. His ground flight leaves him only a couple of pixels below that height.
how is im in umvc3 gilley?
is his ADD still super fast like all air dash downs in vanilla?
i ask cause ive been using more and more superjump ADD m as a streetfighter neutral jump, only marvel style… seems pretty good to me.
and how is IM’s boxjump H? does it control more screen cause it doesnt go as far?

As you can tell I really didn’t play MvC3. There was too many stupid things I hated about the game. The airdash height restriction thing was one of them. I had completely forgotten about it.
Ironman’s instant airdash down is still fast. They slowed his airdash down now to feel more like old marvel ironman.
I’m not sure about boxjump H. I guess the amount of screen you control is dependent on when you cancel his airdash to the j.H. If you cancel it really early he barely goes anywhere, do it later and you control the space a little further out.
It seems ironman’s aircombos have gotten easier. I remember trying to do ironman combos in MvC3 and just getting pissed at how difficult they made them. I’m getting close to about 400k damage before sending them back down with j.S off of a basic air combo. Something like…
c.l > c.m > s.h > s > sj.m > sj.m > sj.h > sj. u+h > airdash up > sj.l > sj.m > sj.h > flight > f.l > f.m > f.h > f.s
This combo I started doing almost immediately after not having played MvC3 and ironman since the game came out months ago. So it’s pretty easy to do and this small sequence does 397k damage. Tack on an OTG > super or whatever for more. I’m liking the airdash cancel normals.
Also, I’m not sure if this was possible in MvC3, but it’s dope. In the corner he can do…

I just like how he can go from a s.h to the missile to another s.h
Ironman feels better, but I still don’t like how he feels in the marvel3 engine. They didn’t get the essence of old ironman correct.

My friend was unable to figure out how finish the combo seeing as he isn’t an ironman player, but this opens the possibility of throwing away ironman’s horrible launcher and hopefully letting him make use of best, but most unreliable, vanilla combo.
Mind you he tested this at MAX range, perhaps ironman’s C is just that big now o.O
Iron Man could launch after this in Vanilla. And vanilla IM’s launcher is not “horrible”.
