This game is a huge disappointment. I am better of learning SSFIV than Marvel vs Capcom 3. You don’t even need an advance combo to win. You’re better off with basic + XF just to win a game. Also, when you punish an assist. Kiss them good bye when you can’t tag your full healthy character.
Right now you don’t need an advanced combo to win… but make no mistake the jab jab random super people are getting stepped on hard by my v.joe and phoenix. And I’m just using mixups and playing. Having a blast actually. I still don’t get why they changed the controls… and it’s a fucking trial trying to not magic series people…lol but I’m starting to really dig it.
Phoenix is to much fun… v.joe is a god… dormammu also becoming a fav…
As good a marvel 2? Nah… but entertaining in similar ways.
v.joes is quite good. Only good one I’ve found other than hulks armored AAA…
imo… you don’t really need em as bad. Blocking is quite easy in this… and pushblock gets really good distance. Just gotta use it a lot.
I’m pretty sure that’s what happens in marvel 2 when you attempt to punish assists with unsafe shit also…

according to the mvc3 strategy guide, captain americas stars and stripes assist is invincible on startup. thinking wolverine/ironman/captain america for my rushdown team?

Oh good, I’d like to vs your Hsien-Ko soon :D. “So you like weapons too?” On another note, I just watched the WNF stream of MvC3 (Justin won the tourney) and all I got to say is DAYUM!!! After watching Clakey D’s X-23 in action, I think I know how to abuse her now, lol. I might just change her assist to the ankle slicer now.
Oh yeah, ggs to EZ as well. You should do like Floe and abuse Haggar’s pipe attack. Also, I haven’t seen you do this yet so you might not know about it, but I found out that it you hit the opponent with a j.S and walk forward a bit, you can piledrive or lv3 them immediately when they recover from hit stun. You can also do j.S, X-Factor Cancel and then do a piledriver or lv3. It does a ton of damage and it’ll make anyone think twice about rushing at you (unless they have hyper armor). If you do it with lv3 X-Factor and do the lv3, everyone dies, lol.

this is to mvc2 as smash bros brawl was to ssb melee.
it’s definitely easier to pick up and learn, but it is not mvc2.5. people need to understand that what you learned in previous versions may not apply. find new strats and counters.
in any case, i find this game had some great changes. no meter gain from whiffing was a fantastic addition, preset teams is another great idea, assist descriptions are helpful, and oh my god i love this start+select reset feature.
but best feature ever in any Vs series has to be hit-stun deterioration.
theres really one strategy in this game so far it looks like…teleport in and RTSD. theres no aa counter to teleporters. caps SnS assist is not invinc i read that wrong
I’m pretty sure it beats out everything if you time it right (except for a Rimouken’d Hsien-Ko :D) since it causes a hard knockdown. Double pipe does so much damage it’s funny.

It’s so easy to block in this game and push block is the shit… at least 20 times 2nite as dormammu I push blocked an excited dante off me and went strait into super. As v.joe or phoenix I’ve push blocked people off and did slide into launcher soooo many times.
At the moment I’m like 120-18 or something… mostly to random asses picking sent and just supering and whatnot… oh and don’t forget dante who’s to damn busy attacking to bother not losing.
Is it just me or am I the only Haggar user out there kicking ass??? I still have yet to see a good haggar player online. I will probably be the only guy looking to learn the characters nobody hardly uses such as MODOK, she-hulk, felicia etc…At the moment I’m just trying to see what other character works well with Haggar so I have a long way to learn everyone’s move.

I was playing last night and I wasn’t doing too hot. I’m primarily using Chris, Spencer and Viper. But, to my defense, I wasn’t trying to wake up my girlfriend in the middle of the night of me playing since I kinda slam on the stick hard enough that she could wake up.
I wanna learn more about the game and it’s mad fun. Doing aerial combos is so much fun.
Come to think of it… I haven’t seen a single MODOK online yet, is he really that hard to use?
