I’m being serious. This is no Marvel vs Capcom series. There’s nothingn that relates to it’s previous cross over what so ever.
What is it exactly that threw you off of it?
Everything.
You can easily kill an assist with 1-2 bars.
Xfactor is cheap.
Basic Combo without XF does a lot of dmg.
Your opponent’s recovers faster than anything (So, some DHC won’t work).
I can name a lot.
Ok, that does sound kind of f’ed up. I heard about X Factor being cheap and I did notice Basic Combo taking massive life off as well. Hmm…I guess I’ll head back to SSFIV for the time being. And if the requests are enough (after this patch) I’ll stream MvC3 but I doubt I’ll play it at all.

LOL kind of ironic that you hosted an mvc3 tournament to win game and now your ditching that very game lol. It’s obvious the whole mvc2 pros are split in half and it’s probably safe to say that no one will ever duplicate the success mvc2 had. Like I said before, I go where the competition is, the tournaments and the money matches, that’s my flow.
That’s because I had all the stuff completed before the game was completed.
Mystic it sounds like if you could drop the expectations of it being the same game but better you might approach it from a different perspective. It’s not the same game… its just a really fun fighting game that has a lot in common with marvel 2. The aspects you call broken would be so in marvel 2… in marvel 3 they are expected. Yes you can kill an assist in 2 bars… that’s this game. Don’t leave your assists in bad spots. The characters in this game have like at least two or three times the options to cover them with… why not do so?
X-factor is rough… but you have it to… and you can choose how to use it. Use it early with a rushdown squad and build a lead… use it late to keep afloat. Use it when someone punishes the shit out of one of your assists (hey look 1 of your complaints helps cure another one.)
This game like all fighters will take years for anyone to be ‘good’ at… but honestly… I main phoenix and near all your bitches are worse for her than anyone… and I’m doing amazingly well by creatively playing to her strengths.
In a game of such insane dmg it’s still only 1 in 8 or so matches that I lose a character badly and early… and thanks to xfactor (usually the reason why i lose them) I often still pull out a win in those games.
As much as I love marvel 2… I can honestly say it feels like not 1 single thing in this game is as broken as the gods of 2 are vs the other 52 characters in the game.
Honestly it sounds like you are seeing what you wish to see… or are choosing not to see things about marvel 2. And in both cases it’s coming from your heart man… but you can’t play a game like this with your heart until your head is all the way around it. Which it’s not yet. Give it time.

Stop trying to persuade Mystic or the remain mvc2 pros to like this game. Like I said, this game is not for everybody and just let it be. I’m sure if buttons layout were the same then maybe just maybe they would like it…of course that’s just a small part.
well, i only spent an hour or an hour and a half playing this game yesterday. spent time in training mode, mission and just playing against cpu. found myself to turn the game off because it’s fairly boring. for all the basic characters, it feels like if you learn one of them, you’ve basically learned them all, more or less.
i’ll try again today after work i guess, but yea, the game isnt too great as of now
I can’t persuade anyone to like the game. I can however point out when people are not using perspective and when the reasoning for that is suspect.
I respect the shit out of mystic and always had a blast playing marvel 2 with him on or off the steam… it would make me sad to seem him bail out with so much depth not even starting to be tapped yet. Maybe it’s not for everyone. I get it… but if anyone thinks they can make that judgement after 3 or 4 days the I don’t know what they are judging. It would be like going back to 2000 in marvel 2 and quitting b/c jumpback icebeam is lame… yea well… look at all the shit that become so much more after 6 months… a year… 5 years… 10 years…
I don’t have to even guess to know that 3 days into marvel 2 no one was doing shit compared to what they had achieved in marvel 1. (b/c I worked in an arcade at the time)
If a year from now this game hasn’t shaped up and the community for it likewise… I’ll be done with it. Til then I’m just trying to learn so I can actually know what I’m judging.

This is just my opinion, but I don?t think this sorry excuse for a VS. series game will ever see the glory or staying power its predecessor currently has.

When I purchased MvC3, the first thing I did was not compare it to MvC2. I mean, looking at all the predecessors you can see what drastic changes it took from the very first MvC (button layout to the actual gameplay style).
