Strider in this game is a mix up cross up character with low health. Level three Ouroboros will enable him to break people open without an assist.
It does excellent damage, prevents offense, allow him to open them up.
Sounds excellent to me.

Ya, i so want a megaman X cameo of him standing at one of the stages.
Cmon man. You knew exactly what he was saying. No need to be pedantic about wording.
Um… common sense would show that he was referring to Ultimate. No need to take him so literally like you just did.
I call bollocks since gaining the meter for Ouroboros heavily relies on you building the meter on your own (preferably while on the attack rather than getting slapped up) without wasting it on Legion. Before Legion was useless, it wasted meter and could easily be super-jumped over and did crap damage on chip. OK, now it OTG’s which means I can finish my combo off with style and damage except I just wasted my meter I was building for my real meat and potatoes. I find it ridiculous to have 2 LVL3 hypers when you only have 5 hyper combo bars. If I had 7 bars, fine. But having only 5 means that if I actually gain the 5 and I’m in a pressure situation, I have to choose. I choose the wrong hyper and/or don’t hit-confirm like a boss; I’m out 3 whole bars. And now I’ve got to start all over again building meter but if my opponent is worth his salt that means Strider’s already in trouble since he bleeds health easily. This wouldn’t matter if I had many LVL1 options like every other damn character in the game. People are not seeing this, he has only ONE LVL1. That means the same low-level hyper combo meter option; NO MATTER WHAT.
I wonder how many chances people think they’ll have to build meter for 2 LVL3 options when said character has pitiful life and TAC’s can rip away your meter. This is on top of the fact that the Ouroboros satellites seem to be purely offensive now rather than defensive.
Chris Redfield essentially only has one level one hyper combo…
Ouroboros at level 3 is fine. Building meter is stupid easy in this game, and people are just being bitchy about it.
No I didn’t know exactly what he was saying due to level of troll this forum has received in the past few weeks, I wanted to be dead certain. Which is why I called him on it to make sure. If it sounded harsh, it wasn’t my intent but I have already stated such.
Common sense is not very common at all. And in the same vein, I took him literally due to what his words were. It’s not my position to infer what anyone types based on whatever factors resulted in said typing. Which is why I called him out to see if he’s trolling or it was simply a mistake.
Regardless of such my main reason for intruding upon his posting is based more so on the comment of people having to compare Strider’s Ouroboros based on UMvC3’s parameters alone. To me this is slightly audacious since he is a character that existed in this series before which means that people cannot help but compare the Ouroboros to previous iterations in determining whether or not a “nerf” or “buff” has occurred. I mean how can you consider it “nerfed” or “buffed” without comparing it to the previous iteration?
So, you’re upset because Strider has two great Level 3’s, and you are going to have to choose between them during a match? Yeah, sounds rough…
I doubt they would make vergil that similar to dante. Im expecting something more basic with him, maybe 2 stances, sword and gauntlet, a sword based hyper and a devil trigger hyper. But while we are on the topic, I am interested to see how they go about making him different from dante.
Welcome to SRK; where three meters for a full screen unblockable set up just isn’t enough…
They could make Ouroboros a level 2 hyper…
Come off it, I already explained that the problem is not enough LVL1 options.
I know what you mean about the level of troll on these forums. We have people flipping out when others forget to put the U in UMvC3 for crying out load. Pretty soon this will be worse than Unity.
as a strider player since mvc1 first dropped…i’m not feeling orbs being level 3 either. at all. i’ll wait til i get my hands on the game to reserve judgement but right now on paper and from what i’ve seen (which is obviously very early umvc3 play on a build) its bullshit.
make it level 1 so i can use it multiple times in a match. i can’t fathom playing strider differently.
guess i’ll be dealing with it unless enough of us make a fuss and capcom changes it.
lol, plus people forget that its a utility hyper, something you need to sit in the lab with for a while to come up with applications for.
Based on what I’ve seen so far, Strider is already really good, and whenever orbs are out the opponent dies pretty quickly. Do they really need to be level 1? I don’t think he needs it at all.
Seth said that this came up, but he said that Strider should be boss when Orbs are out. They would nerf it to make it a level 2.
Edit: F’ing quotes.
Raccoon’s level 3 will have Megaman standing on his arrow. Then he’ll become a giant and get cancelled.
It seems to me like he is going to work best with a battery in front of him gaining meter, bringing in Strider at three bars, and then making smart use of whatever Level 3 is going to work the best. I’m not sure that he is going to do well as a starter character, but he is going to be very scary with meter, which is probably Working As Intended. .02.
