I like that the roster isn’t a bunch of anime girls. Get some MAN up in these fighting game rosters again. Needs more Guile and Sagat.
I’m kinda dissapointed at still no Psylocke or Gambit (Psylocke is the only character I really want since I mained her from like 1995) but now that X-23 is in she’s that Ibuki type character that fills the void I guess. Plus Dante is a blast to play and can do one of like everything except command grab.
Son I am disappoint. Capcom side of the list = all highly demanded characters other than Nemesis (waste of a spot) Marvel side of the list leaves you looking up names on the wiki page because no one knows who the hell they are.
This is what I’m most pissed about. 14 girls in a roster of 38, not bad. But you add TWELVE (again TWELVE) new characters and not ONE is a female? Nemesis? Really? Why not Rebecca Chambers or Ada Wong? 
I wanted Psylocke, Jem, and Squirrel Girl… Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Jubilee… eh, oh well. Still buying this anyway.

First of im mad that we have to pay 40 bucks for something that was supposed to be MVC3 anyways imo (Spectator mode, the balancing, roster w/e). Also to add on to that, Im mad that they continue to milk dat cash by releasing this game SO SOON. MVC3 has JUST been out, and there is still a shiiiitttlooadddd to be discovered with every team, and they are already balancing the game…Its stupid imo, I doubt anyone fully used every char and tried to create the best posible team/combos/assists/synergy for them.
Second the leaked chars again IMO, aren’t anything special (Strider im happy for though, for Clockworks mostly lol). I dont know many of them from comics/games, but I’d expected some other key chars from other killer Capcom games instead of chars we don’t know (Raccoon?..). When I saw Virgil though, I’d forgot about Cashcops lazyness for just a second and said I’d buy it at launch, but im still not sure.
But Hm, about Virgil being a Dante clone…He does have all his weapons so I hope they give him the moves Dante didn’t get (Dante,Virgil,Strider less go.). Also Hawkeye looks awesome, but…We have Taskmaster… (He does have diff. moves too, but hes very much based/used for his arrows) I felt some could have been replaced with some more original chars :…I however DO like, that everyone gets new moves, I did not expect that. Bouncing hadou? Spencers thingy? damn.
Also am I the only one that thinks the interface looks crappy? lol, damn, please keep it how it is now.
Vergil and Dante don’t have the same weapons lol. Go play DMC3. The characters are very different.
Taskmaster only has one of Hawkeyes projectiles. Did you not see the other arrows he shot like the lightning and ice? This is reminding me of the prerelease Taskmaster vid where it was like “Spidey swing and Charging Star omg he’s gonna play like Spider-man or Cap”. Oh how wrong were those people.
HUD is ass. On field character in the middle with Assist 1 below and Assist 2 above? Did they really think this was a good idea?

I feel bad for the guys who had a thanos train. It was like we were 100% positive of him, must of sucked for them to find out he wasn’t in. I’m seriously happy about strider.
Damn you did fucking good on the roster Capcom. I’m so happy to see Vergil, Strider Strange and Ghost Rider and Firebrand goddamnit everybody. Everybody looks to be fine choices even Rocket Raccoon.
The interface does look bad though. Sloppy looking. The character select is one of the best I have ever seen in ANY fighting game.

I called it the minute the cosmic thing was announced. “Thanos, Ms. Marvel, Silver Surfer or Nova”. I’m all over this. And Hawkeye. 4 out of 10 of my favorite marvel characters managed to make it into the game. I’m all sorts of hype.
You can tell from the gameplay video right away that Hawkeye is way different than Taskmaster. Bring on the salt. I claim the Nova thread, by the way.
I’m perfectly fine with Nova. He is awesome, not Thanos, but I’ll certainly live.

Well I’m kinda disappointed there’s no Juggernaut (really been fiending for that Juggernaut punch assist) but besides that weird racoon I’m hella interested. I’ve already seen some new moves from some of the old cast which really makes me excited to what else has been added.

I was pissed enough that Capcom released a half-finished product a few months ago and expect us to shell out another $40 for a bunch of crap that should have been in the game THE FIRST TIME, but the fact that the roster additions are such a big let down is a dealbreaker. I am not going to buy this game just so I can futz around with Ghost Rider, Phoenix Wright, Strider and Nemesis for a few minutes before buyer’s remorse kicks in. We aren’t even getting freaking Mega Man X, and on top of that, as others have pointed out, the new roster additions are a sausagefest. Marvel and Capcom have plenty of popular female characters that they could have included, so they really don’t have an excuse.
No new women? Why not? Also, who is Rocket Raccoon anyway? I’m not gonna hate on him now, well at least not until I know what he’s about.
Looking at the select screen in the stream, it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll see any DLC characters for this. That select screen doesn’t look like a placeholder. It’s too bad. MvC3 could have been something pretty special if they balanced the surprises with the fanservice. The roster is more balanced and diverse than MvC2’s, objectively, but it’s hard to not get the feeling that this game is only halfway to where it needs to be to really live up to the “Ultimate” title.
MvC3 was doomed to be a disappointment to virtually everybody from the start. No game made from scratch could match MvC2’s massive roster AND bring new characters to the table. I hope this isn’t the end of the MvC3 games, and if it is, I hope they get right to work on a truly awesome MvC4.

I’m glad Marvel catered to actual Comicbook fans and not the people still obsessed with 90’s toons and can’t move on. Funny I go on actual comicbook boards and they couldn’t be any happier. Great selection by both sides. Thougt I do understand the lack of female characters may be an issue for some. It’s time stop QQ and move on, like Marvel has.
