Actually, they kinda are. “Best” is a relevant term. I could say Vanilla ice cream is best, while you could say chocolate is best.

I wanted Classic Megaman, Venom, and all the Veterans I used in the past fighters. Very few returned. I still kept my game (I won my copy). And I still continue to play it to this day. Had no idea who MODOK, Taskmaster, Super Skrull, Dormammu, and X-23 were (had to Wiki everybody). But I saw Taskmaster’s trailer and I was ready to use him and wreck house. I loved his Aegis Counter and decided that I would try to pull that off in every match I play, even against zoners. I didn’t know Spencer was in Bionic Commando, but I still used him. I loved Hsien-Ko ever since Darkstalkers but eventually had to replace her due to her terrible speed. And ever since Amaterasu was announced I swore I would NEVER switch her out for someone else. I would learn everything the is to know about her and create a team around her… And I have.
I hate that my characters are STILL not in this game, but I WILL give everyone a chance. Have no freaking clue who R. Raccoon, Iron Fist, or Nova is, got several bad images about Ghost Rider before he was even announced (stupid Nick Cage), heard about Doctor Strange through Hsien-Ko’s ending and looked him up, and played as Hawkeye in one of the old arcade games with Spider-Man, Back Cat, and Sub-Mariner. I know all the Capcom characters and I think that they all would bring something new to the table enough to keep the game a lot more fresh.
Who knows? I might actually use R. Raccoon and wreck shit with him, or finally learn how to use a zoner character (Dr. Strange) or even play as a “BS” character (Phoenix Wright) and become very good with all of them.
I’ve already given them all a chance and the game hasn’t been released yet. You might find yourself liking the new characters if you give them a chance. That’s how I’m starting to like Spencer/Taskmaster.

You know Capcom they wont give you anything you would actually pay for untill they find a way they can make more money off of it. I dont really care though, this game is hype as hell and I’m buying On Day 1.

Kind of steering things in another direction, despite such an early re-release, Seth and the guys at Unity do genuinely want to foster a strong community. The guy’s name escapes me, but during the stream earlier there was a rant about people saying Capcom’s employees only work for their paycheck and how deplorable that is. He pointed out that everyone only works for a paycheck (an obvious thing many gamers miss), but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the fans at heart when they do things. I’m sure a lot of rock groups don’t want to keep singing their greatest hits at shows, but the fans keep demanding it, so they concede some hits with some new songs. What Capcom does, at least at the development level, is not solely for the benefit of Capcom. When some guy gets out of school and wants to make games, he doesn’t dream of serving his corporate overlords. A lot of artists have to put food on the table. Obviously the higher-ups care about money first, but there are guys there (like Inafune was) who realize that** if you make fans happy, the money will come.**
This really doesn’t apply so much to you guys, as I think most of us here are pretty reasonable and level-headed when we have to be. It’s more just a commentary on the blow-up over the roster. It’s just so annoying to see so many “Who’s Nova?” types of topics. Another user posted a page from a comic where Rider basically addresses Stark as I would address Nova’s naysayers.

I liked the original reason for not adding Megaman: Zero does the same thing and more.

On one hand, I kind of respect the balls on Niitsuma for that. He felt strongly about Zero being *Mega Man + more, *and isn’t wavering. It’s become kind of a pissing contest, and he really isn’t in the position to go against public opinion, but how do we know he’s wrong? Sometimes people don’t really know what they want. They just demand familiarity, even if it’s worse.
Ban ghost rider. He reminds me of that terrible nick cage movie. I cant stomach playing or losing to nick cage.

As for Megaman vs Zero, Zero doesn’t necessarily do everything Mega Man does and more. Remember the Robot Masters, and how he took their powers (and how he can switch between them, like in MvC1 and 2)? Yeah, he could have enough unique and powerful moves to make even Dante’s movelist look diminutive by comparison.
Anyone who thinks any incarnation of Mega Man would just be Zero Lite is not thinking creatively enough.
