You do realize that Servbot was a playable character in MvC2, right? But for some reason an obscure raccoon character with guns seems to be out of place.
My post was an obviously indeed an exaggeration but I hate how everybody seems to think that this game is balanced. There is no dismissing that pro’s will be pro’s but this game and tournament results prove this. This game is far too random. MVC2 was random, but it did not hold a candle to this game. Sure more characters are playable but at high levels characters like Pheonix and Wolvie are brain-dead easy and taking far too many wins. I laboured for years in MVC2 training to do some of the stuff pro have done consistently in matches. Within a week of owning MVC3 I was herp derping my way to victories with Sent and Wolvie and it’s those things that make you consider balance. People complained about MVC2 because they couldn’t use their Guile and double sweep into hurricane all day and they got blown up by run away Storms and rush down Magneto’s. The bar for execution and the learning curve for MVC2 high tier absolutely blows MVC3 out of the water. My reference to Smash albeit may be an ignorantly playful one is a response to my upset the downfall in the vs. series. For me to feel this way about a fighting game (I love virtually all of them for different reasons) It has to be far more than X-Factor that’s game breaking. There are many problems with this game.
Because every character in MVC2 was serious business right? Please, try harder

Damn so much salt and whining going on in here :|. I for one don’t care some of the choices of characters that capcom and marvel decided to include are fine. there adding diversity to the cast and i cant wait to see how Rocket Racoon and phoenix wright playout.

People in this thread have already decided they’re gonna hate the game, and they haven’t played it. If you’re gonna be like that be my guest, I’m just gonna enjoy my game and can’t wait to see how the meta evolves around it. My only fear is if they make one of the new chars too strong and we get yun/yang AE status in UMvC3

thats the thing why do the same mistake on a game been waited on for 10 years. there a fuckload of awesome marvel characters that could have been chosen for the LOL spot rocket raccoon had. but overall im pretty satisfied with the roster but dont front when u know there could have been better marvel choices.
Rocket Raccoon taking up a character slot is not the same thing is Servbot taking up a character slot.

In this context it kind of is. People are busy complaining that this character couldnb’t be in a fighting game and he’s so weird and why would capcom put these strange chars in a game, but overlook that its something they’ve done all the time. Servbot MvC2, Roll TvC was another strange choice. It’s not unheard of
At least they didn’t give us the “wolverine… BONECLAW wolverine” treatment.

I’ve not seen anyone here claim the game is totally balanced and has no problems. No one. What I’ve seen people say is that it’s a hell of a lot more balanced than MVC2, which is true. MVC2 didn’t even have a mid tier. There was a choice of 4 mains, some assists, and fuck you if you wanted to play anyone else.
The only recurring complaint I see is that execution is too easy. I’ve never seen a game improved by having harder execution. Never. 1 frame links doesn’t make a game more competitive or fun. It just means you can’t play online. I’ll take options > execution any day of the week.
So we should throw Misty Knight in there as well just because she’s a black woman? You do realize that’s infinitely more condescending than not including her because she lacks the tools to make an interesting fg character right?
I don’t really see how a relevant, actually quite serious comic book character being added to the roster who actually designed to be competitively viable is the same as adding a character like Servbot who no matter how you look at him is a complete joke.
