ULTIMATE Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - OFFICIAL

I love me some B.B.Hood. But I am very happy that Hsien-Ko is in. BUt really any darkstalkers character is a good addition in my book. I actually really wanted Q.Bee.

Actually reading the posts here tells me that a lot of people tried Hsien-ko (it is her first serious debut outside of her own series, right?) and were disappointed. So the interest is there, but it can’t be sustained if she is kept weak as she is.

Make it so that Hsien-ko’s cr.H OTGs, come on Capcom, you know you wanna.

Q bee too. Shit a new Vampire Savior needs to happen

I’ve never understood the “x took y’s spot” argument. How did Hsien Ko take Jedah’s spot, how do we even know Jedah’s name was ever on the table? If that spot didn’t go to her it could just as likely have gone to Megaman or Frank West.

She’s this but a girl [details=Spoiler]

I like Bulleta and everything, but I wouldn’t want her in this game because I have an odd feeling that they’d mess up her character by toning her down or something. Also, if Capcom left out her j.:mp: like they did in MvC2, she’d be missing her mixup game.

Yeah, I have that feeling too. Way to rep the DS series by making all three representatives suck, Capcom (Morrigan looks like she has a brighter future though. Can’t speak for Felicia, but airok Delta Kick must be a nice throwback).

And yes, she needs some way to follow up her airthrow. cr.:h: would be fine for relaunches AND it makes sense. Silly old Capcom.

It’s from people geting disappointed and maybe taking personal offense, is all. I wouldn’t mind Jedah, but not over Ko. He’d probably do really nicely in this game if they made his normals less punishable. He’d have good mixups and spacing, I think. Only problem is the blood factor, and not just a little blood either. Yeah, Nemesis got in, but we all knew that whole “he’s too violent” thing was bullshit anyway.

I’m going to lol when Wright is top tier, that’ll shut the haters up. Well, we’ll see next month when they show him off at TGS.

Did Clock and Maximillion upload their strider shit yet?

But still she was way more competitive in MvC2 than Lei-Lei is in MvC3. They just fucked her up. Felicia and Morrigan were also downgraded as hell, but at least they’re not dead last. Also, Morrigan is getting nice buffs here and there so she’ll probably be a lot better in UMvC3, Lei-Lei still plays like shit.

Pheonix Wright’s gimmick: he can’t block, you can’t block him. First hit wins.

I don’t think Clock was going to “upload” anything. Been waiting for Max’s though :’(

You’re acting like she’s set in stone. True, they may actually be done with her, and that would suck for me/you’d be right, but not everything’s done yet. And how a character performed in MvC2 is irrelevant to this game.

What i meant is that even with her mix-up game missing, Bulleta could still possibly work as she still has several other options as focus, not that she would instantly be good in this game because she was decent in 2.

And yeah, they still have about 3 months to buff Lei-Lei, let’s hope for some Makoto-like buff.

I would rather have Rikuo or Talbain personally.

Didn’t Niitsuma say something about how certain characters are made bad for the sake of competition or something? Based on what we’ve been seeing, I think Hsien-Ko is among those characters. I’m not expecting all that much to change.

Then they should make them bad as in “not as good as the top” not “bad that they might as well not be in the game” bad. Seriously, it hurts using her because she could have been so much more, without being hideously overpowered.

He’d turn into “Pheonix Wright with Hard Evidence”. that would actually be in line with his character too.

I know this might not be the place for it, but I kind of want to talk about ‘what if’s’ regarding Pheonix Wright and what they might be doing with his moveset.

A lot of people think Pheonix only has OBJECTION as his ‘special attack’ in the PW games, but actually he has three ‘moves’ he does in court. “TAKE THAT!” is a move where he presents evidence, and he also has “HOLD IT” which is used to press a witness during their testimony. “OBJECTION” is, of course, supposed to be a coup de grace for when you present proper evidence in the right place to expose a flaw in the witnesses testimony. “Take that and Objection” are all moves that involve items in some way.

If capcom made each of these into actual moves, he’d have three distinct special moves/hypers he could do. I could see Take That being a projectile style move similar to Hsein Ko’s, where he throws various evidence items at the opponent. Hold it could either be a counter-style move or something that locks your opponent down. Objection…is probably a damaging attack of sorts.

The only way I could see him being too good like Ms. Pheonix is if he has some kind of gimmick. In the PW games, Pheonix never gets any help in his cases so he has to go out and find evidence himself. I think it would be plausible to have some kind of thing where he has to hit the opponent a certain amount of times to get evidence from them, and then can use that evidence to perform very powerful specials and combos with TAKE THAT. Kind of like MODOK’s analysis cube except in reverse.

Another possibility is an Arakune-style mechanic. You hit the opponent with enough TAKE THAT’s and HOLD IT’S and they start getting nervous, doing less damage to you, having their attacks interrupted and other annoying stuff like that.

That’s what I think it’ll be anyway, but capcom might just pull a left field and make him into something totally different. Maybe he uses nothing but strikers, and so when you play Pheonix Wright, it’s just a clusterfuck of assists, objections, evidence and Detective Gumshoes doing Haggar lariats while calling you Pal?"

Ah, I see what you’re saying.

Uggh.

That’s a backwards design policy if true. I hope that’s not what it is. Does he mean they’re purposely made bad because some people enjoy the challenge of using an underpowered (or in this case, craptastic) character? Why not just make them more challenging to use for a greater reward then (i.e., Viper)? Or is it just a cover-up for time constraints? Hmmm…

And if that’s the case, then almost every character I like in this game falls into that group. Nemesis, you had better not suck. Or else I’ll… not use you. Or something.

I kinda thought that the purpose was that it’s more exciting when a person goes far with one of the worse characters, or it ends up being more exciting when a person using the best of the best loses. Like the hate towards some of the top characters in SSF4 wasn’t as concentrated as the hate for Phoenix now, so it’s more hype when a Phoenix loses. Like when PR Balrog level 3d Viscant.

Yeah, I guess so. Still think it’s kind of silly. I don’t think upsets should be based on the characters players chose; rather, by the skill of the players. But that’s just my belief. If what you said is Capcom’s belief, then I’ll have to roll with it.
