Seth Killian commented on the violent ordeal, saying the Developers were “Too punchy”.
A poster in the Haggar subforum had some really good ideas for Haggar changes. I’ll try to pull it up. I still don’t know why Capcom would nerf that and Gustaff Fire. Is it really a bad thing that there are some legit, really solid “GTFO me” assists in MvC3?
Hyper EDIT:
I, personally think that’s pretty fair. Nothing too groundbreaking. An idea I had was giving him a barrel or something he could throw that wallbounces on hit, with startup like Tron’s Bandit Boulder.
So yeah, someone said I should start a thread up for DLC modes we’d actually like to see in UMvC3, instead of something as boring as infinite hyper. These were my original suggestions:
-OG Mode. Original MvC3 style. No changes to X-Factor, TACs, etc. If you are looking for something to give people who already have MvC3, folks at Capcom, this would be a good place to start.
-Ultimate All-Stars mode. TvC style. Baroques, Megacrashes, and all that good stuff.
-Retro Mode. Street Fighter II style. 1 on 1. First to two wins. No Hypers. No X-Factor. Maybe even make it intentionally slow, and also make it where throws/grabs do one-third of a character’s health.
-Ratio Mode. CVS2 style. No tag-outs. No assists. Just go through characters in order, KOF style. You can distribute power levels between characters to boost their offense, defense, etc, just like CVS2. Red Health is regained after an enemy is defeated.
-2v2 4-Player Mode. MvC1 Dreamcast style. Each team shares one assist, which can only be used a certain number of times. Activating a Team Hyper will put both players of a team on the screen for a certain length of time. (I know that the game only has it set-up for two controllers, not four - if you can’t hack up a way to put four controllers in, then just make it an online-only and/or system link method, where two locally connected players can team up to face two other players. Two systems, four players.)
Here’s another to add:
Vampire Mode. 1 on 1. Two ‘Downs’. Red Health recovers automatically as long as the player stops taking hits. Players will move at around a 125% of their normal speed. If possible, take out the dramatic pauses Hypers cause from this mode.
What do you guys think? New threads tend to get locked if they have no where to go, so I’m just wondering if this is worth starting it’s own thread for. Are these ideas worth throwing at Niitsuma and co.?
Woah woah woah! Do you guys realize you’re on an online forum? We don’t settle misunderstandings in a civilized manner! Start flaming each other before you upset some cosmic balance.
She is most definitely dead… as in he discovered his powers when she was torn away from him during the Holocaust after which she was never seen again (If I remember correctly.).
That was pretty much what made him who and what he is.
EDIT:
Keep in mind it isn’t the ‘GTFO me’ factor that got nerfed (For Haggar anyway), it’s the ability to combo off of it, AKA being able to punish a successful read/punish with a combo.
Of course, I’ll have to wait and see, but this change may allow Skrull to command grab off of it >.<
Tron’s nerf is a little too intense though. I hope they see that and scale it back a bit. It had a bit too much invulnerability before, but now it’s just a punching bag.
Haggar is kind of ridiculous though. Not just because of Haggar himself, but because of the game mechanics. The only real problem is how easy it is to combo off of him. The fact that he causes a hard knockdown and that assists in this game still do their moves even though the point character has been hit make it to where you can still get a combo off of Haggar despite having blocked a move with your face.
Edit: I don’t think that Tron’s assist needed to be nerfed. Atleast not to what it is now.
I think with high priority anything comes with “OP” or “abusive” come to mind. Not saying it does OP…but it can be abusive, and it usually turns out that way, which to me, I can see why stuff like that gets nerfed.
Secondly, anything high priority (as used in arguements), most people will argue to make the lower characters better. Then…IMO…everything just about comes abusive, and it comes back to broken status arguement. Ultimate is trying NOT to go that route, I think.
Yeah, that’s the problem. I know day 1 abusive j.H was like: “WTF?! How do I stop this?!” and then it was pretty seeable after awhile…
But I guess with the 2 zonig buffs, it’s means there making her well rounded in offesnse and defense…as well as making zoning better in general in Ultimate.
We got 3 more months until it goes gold…they might make it up to her in the time.
Firebrand actually looks pretty good from what I have seen. Ghost Rider is always kickass now matter where you put him.
Although I may have some issues with Strider.
But Spiderman can TOD anyone for 1 meter. But that’s super duper top secret and no one’s meant to know he’s actually awesome because then Capcom will nerf him.
