Yeah I had to resort to doing an regular DP motion just before she teleports to get the counter to come out properly. With Ryu I just crouch and mash light and she teleports into it for free lol.

Dante? Why? I mean dude is good, but he isn’t that good, plus he actually requires some semblance of skill and execution to play effectively since he doesn’t have free mix-ups like certain characters.

Dude, reading your post I just remembered that Killer 7 was published by Capcom. Though, if there were K7 representation, I would rather play as Mask de Smith to be honest. Just cause I find him to be the coolest of the Smiths. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who needs free mixups when everything you do is safe. The only reason people don’t bitch about Dante is because of how ridiculous Wolvie and DP are. Dante + Haggar are stupid good together.That lariat assist beats out Berserker slash, and Dante can keep wolvie at bay with his long range normals.

My ultimate, pie-in-the-sky, never gonna happen, pipe-dream was for there to be a Killer 7 character in MVC3. I’d like to see a stance switch character where each Smith is a specific stance. Ooh, and Kun Lan with Heaven Smile summons! sigh A man can dream. A man can dream…

Haggar has two command grabs: Hoodlum Launcher, which is a dragon punch motion and L is a hit and can be combo’d, M is a grab and cannot, and H is an anti air grab for resets.
His other command grab is the piledriver/backdrop, depending on if it’s done on the ground or in midair. It uses a half-circle back motion, and is a grab with all versions. I was just being stupid to make fun of plenty of stupid posts in this forum.

One thing that I want to try now with Hsien-Ko’s faster Gongs is an approach tactic that is mostly theoryfight. Basically, you send out a :l: or :m: Gong, teledash, then send out another one (to protect you from teleporters) so that you look like this:

O…X…O

O = Gong shockwave
X = Hsien-Ko

The Gongs end up coming out too slowly and you move too slowly to really be everyone at approaching Phoenixes and stuff, making it overall too cumbersome to use in a match, but maybe it could be a little more effective with her new tweaks, if not still gimmicky. To be honest, I never really played around with it that much because it didn’t feel to be worth the effort, so maybe it still wouldn’t do much. But it’s worth a try.

What ever. Although Haggar needs some buffs though. I was hoping that they would give his hoodlum launcher super armor.

From the sound the nerfs, he seems to be getting hit pretty hard that department. Thing is Dante is the kind of character that needs to be able to do outrageous shit. I just hope the nerfs don’t disrupt that balance.

Man Killer 7 is one of my absolute favorite games last gen. I would set up shrine at steps of Osaka headquarters if Capcom were to add the Smith Syndicate as a playable character. They need to make Killer 7 Episode 2 while they’re at it.

I really wish that he had some tool to get in. He can’t zone and he has really bad rushdown. Hoodlum Launcher with SA would help a lot.

The videos I have seen of Dante show that he is still capable of doing crazy stuff. I don’t think he can combo off of Charged Shot anymore though.

That was rather ridiculous that he could combo off of it.

Also, if Haggar’s assist is being nerfed, make him not the worst point character in the game since Hsien-Ko/Arthur.

This is kinda how I am feeling about Vergil, and with Trish is getting buffed apparently I hope she doesn’t end up being S-Tier. I enjoy working hard to win :smiley: makes winning feel better

Yea with the Trish changes coming I might have to jump back in the lab with her (I ran Wesker/Trish/Akuma for like the first 3 months after release before dropping Trish)

Ah I see, so you were worried dante would get nerfed too hard. So far it doesn’t look like too much has changed, I heard he gets hit by hitstun decay quicker now, but that probably means he will only be able to build a bar and a half as opposed to 2 bars from his combos. And hammer lost some invincibility but it still looks pretty potent. I wouldn’t worry bout dante too much in that regard, I think capcom got it pretty spot on in their first try(which is pretty impressive if you ask me)

I can’t wait to hear all the Dante’s whining about Hulk’s standing :h:.

I think the only thing Dante needs changed is his hitboxes reworked.

He’s one of the better made characcters in the game, except for the aforementioned hitboxes and the fact that most of his moves are useless.
