Yep, Marvel’s cosmic stuff is much better than most of their earth centered stuff.
As Strato said, comic fans are hype over the Marvel additions. Just because you guys only know X-Men and a handful of Avengers, doesn’t mean everything else is crap. How many of the naysayers have read Annihilation?

I will admit, the UI needs a lot of work but that’s usually the case when their fighters are in development.
Marvel Cosmic is amazing, though I’d have preferred Starlord, Wendall or Thanos to Rocket or Hawkeye.

The real irony of it all is that X-Men fans are now in the position that more general non-X-Men Marvel fans were in with MvC2. Poorly/underrepresented with a bunch of characters who are, to them, lackluster, dominating the roster. A fun character is a fun character, though. I have no X-Men on my team in vanilla MvC3, and I’m not expecting this to change with Ultimate.
The X-Men fans do make up a sizable portion of Marvel’s fanbase, though, and the X-Men comics are probably a solid third of Marvel. Just because X-Men fans want X-Men in a Marvel game doesn’t make them poseur fans. It’s a big demographic.

And as for Megaman, (assuming we will get a MM) I’ve used a logical process of elimination to narrow down the potential Megaman.
No X - Disconfirmed since very early on in the development of vanilla MvC3. Not added again, even though he is the most requested MM. Zero is repping MMX.
No Volnutt - Cancellation of MML3. Tron is repping MML.
No Classic - Cancellation of MMU. “Can’t make a moveset for him.”
So it comes down to either MegaMan.exe and Megaman Starforce.

i don’t know guys, i’m really liking this game. the characters (most of them) were a total surprise and they all seem pretty unique. hate to harp on the UI, but once they clean that up, this is looking like one polished game. spectator mode is going to really change this community.

Does anyone else think that the Mega Man Legends snow stage is symbollic of how the Mega Man games are dying? That’s what I got out of it anyway. Or at least how the Legends series is dead.
I know some people wanted characters like Bison and Gambit or Psylocke (hell I wanted Gill), but I’m really glad that there are no new X-Men or Street Fighter characters this time around. I think we have a good amount on both sides without their representation being overpowering.
X-Factor still does retarded damage that makes day 1 BNB’s deadly, you can do it in the air now and Strider’s ouroboros looks derpy and mashable as fuck.
I guess I just feel sorry for everyone, we got trolled to hell by Capcom. No Venom, no Ms. Marvel, no X, Gambit, Juggernaut, M. Bison or Sigma, just a “hilarious” animal and a bunch of loser nobodies. I mean, I saw some terrible lists posted in this forum but never in a million years did I imagine it would be this awful. Capcom has hit rock bottom with these characters. You like these characters, that’s great, good for you. I’m glad characters you liked got in. Nonetheless you are in the vast minority and I’ve grown disillusioned with this announcement. I’ve already given up on MVC3 as it is, I was hoping I’d be able to get back into it once it got rebalanced and had some great A-List stars added but it doesn’t look like that’s ever happening now.
Capcom’s fans have been dealt a shit hand lately, between these garbage character additions and the cancellation of MML3. It’s tragic to see how far this company has fallen. I feel sorry for us all. Oh well, have fun dealing with X-Factored Strider Ouroboros mashing.
As I have been stating on unity, the polls meant nothing and we had no say on who was gonna be in this game since the beginning.
Don’t get me wrong, I love X-Men. I read X-books more than any other comic franchise by a mile. However, there is more to Marvel than X-Men and tired of people whining about how their character from MvC2 is missing and not even willing to give other awesome characters a shot.
These games are meant promote both company’s characters. How much more promotion does Cyclops (my fav comic character of all time btw) need?

Majority of my pulls are X-Men. UXF, XML, NM, X-23. FF, Academy, ASM, Venom are the others I read from Marvel outside of minis.
Half of my ongoings are X-Men related.
But I did not want that many X-Men in the roster either. Would of loved to see MM and a Marvel non X-Man female such as Wanda or Carol make it, but am fine with the choices.
So how do you think Nova is going to play?
