I’m trying to come up with a little easy-mode impossible to drop combo for when I’m playing online in less than ideal connection circumstances. I’m attempting launch, jH adf jH xx blast, land, dash S, jH adf jH blast (again), land dash S, sjMMHS. When it all hits I get 530 which, for purposes of what I’m trying to do, ain’t bad.
BUT, the 2nd adf H xx blast really pushes the HSD to the limit and the 3rd launch is whiffing more often than it isn’t. I’ve been experimenting with diff heights for the jH xx adfs, and diff delays on the blasts, etc etc. But nothings consistently solving the problem of making sure they don’t flip out before completion.
Anyone have any idea how this can be made to work? Please don’t bash me for the scrubby combo. I do the real stuff offline all day, I’m just getting sick of dropping after 4 hits on xbl then telling the person who beat me how I, in fact, actually beat them lol I’m open to other suggestions for a simple cant-drop ‘XBL combo,’ it just can’t involve launching to sjH xx addf. Has to be sjH xx adF to ensure ill never drop it ever. Thanks!

Just about any way you slice it, online magneto is ass. Just thought I’d throw that out there
FTFY, don’t play this game online. The salt levels you get are not worth it, and any combo that requires any sort of delay or timing will not work online.
This. I was actually joking with a friend recently that playing online turns you into a scrub, haha. It’s good for seeing what people are trying to do/getting some experience, but you can NOT take that shit seriously. lol

Hey guys I have a few questions but first off I wanted to say how great this Magneto Subforum is, very organized and concise. You contributors should be very proud of yourself for possibly having this best Character Discussion thread on srk. I’ve been messing around with magneto for about 2 weeks now and I’m glad such a complicated character has dedicated posters attached to it, unlike some other cesspools around here.
But I’ve gotten mags flight combo down but can’t do hyper grav loops yet, so in lieu of that what are the best enders after slapping them up and down with H’s?
Also, I dont konw if this is the right thread for this but I’m sure you all can provide insight, what’s the point of magnetic shockwave?
If you can’t do Hypergrav loops yet, just stick with your basic bnb which is a flight combo into Hypergrav, then do tempest directly or do an assist extension into Hypergrav xx Tempest. That’s the best way to get damage/meter out of your combos, you can also use some basic Magnetic blast combos if you aren’t comfortable with loops and they’ll be fine.
Magnetic Shockwave is meant to be mainly used as a get off me tool, it’s invincible on startup(not before activation) and is active immediately post Flash. It pushes the opponent full screen to give you some breathing space or space to get an Install DHC while putting your 2nd character in an advantageous position (ie Astral Vision, Devil Trigger, Ball super from Dorm). It’s best used to anti air telegraphed moves from superjump height (divekicks/footdives) Or making your Disruptors semi safe upclose or on whiff. It’s not useful in combos and try avoiding it’s use if you can as Tempest does more damage in all Magneto combos, and it’s only useful in DHCs if you can get all 6 hits in.
To add on to what leafcolonel said in relevance to magnetic shockwave:
If I notice a pattern in someone’s gameplay, i.e. spencers that like to assist call and grapple across the screen simultaneously over and over, shockwave is a great half assed punish. However, if you have a good DHC to go to (I have vergil second), that half assed punish all of the sudden becomes a devastating happy birthday double TOD (spiral swords, anyone?).
Additionally, it can be used to force the opponent to eat a 50/50 mixup for two bars. With at least ~half screen, you can shockwave, dhc to devil trigger, and still have time to teleport before the shockwave hits, allowing you utilize the shockwave for a teleport mixup.
Yup, it’s very good in punishing horizontal approaches like X-23’s M Talon, Spencer’s Zipline, Nova + Ammy’s ADF. And it’s fairly stupid with a good install super to abuse at the back.
Shockwave is more of a utility tool than anything else. You can end your combo with it the normal way which does shit damage or you can do a side switch Magnetic Blast for more damage but it still won’t be as much as it would be with Tempest. It’s just a really good tool to control the entire screen. If you can already unfly, there’s an easy Hyper Grav loop you can use which is just super jump instant airdash forward jMH stH xx Hyper Grav. If you want a simpler ender, you can really just call an assist extension but we’d have to know your team to determine the best one for you.
disruptah xx shockwave xx maximum wesker
is a fun way to kill off a character from full screen.
disruptah xx shockwave won’t link fullscreen… not to mention shockwave xx maximum wesker, especially from full screen, is probably one of the lowest damage dhcs out there…
There are plenty of DHCs that allow you a full confirm off a full screen Disruptor(Beams like Chaotic Flame or Shinkuu, Million Dollars,HailStorm, SoV) which can be XFactored into a TOD, or DHCs put you in a very advantagegous positon like install DHCs(Devil Trigger/Astral Vision).
I see what he meant now. Still seems like a waste of meter unless it’s absolutely necessary. If disruptah xx (wasted shockwave) dhc to max wesker will kill them from full screen, especially when max wesker gets very few hits at full screen, it seems like you could just wait for them to desparately rush in and chip them out with a shockwave, and save a meter at that.
