Ultimate Ken (Everything you should know)

will work on standing at max distance.

WOW did not know that, thanks!. Can this work on all characters?

Does back.MK -> SA3 work on everyone? I can never seem to get it to link on Yun or Yang, they always just block the SA3. Is there certain different distance to be for certain members of the cast?

it does work on everyone. i think (im not sure) if both hits of the b.mk hit then the super will always connect if you time it right. you might just wanna go into training mode and practice the timing on it a bit since its a link and not a cancel.

???I think ur mistaken with UOH.I have yet to see this.

i’ve seen it work on standing characters, but it does have to be at max range.

or really deep.

I did uoh -> cr. short -> cr. short -> super

I felt awesome.

UOH while the character is rising or standing? I have’nt tried this one coz I always connect when the character is crouching at max distance.

I love your avatar. oh dear god.

And he was crouching. It was the first time I’d ever done it.

b+mk to super works on everyone if theyre crouching, but some characters will only take one hit and this will make the timing for the super different.

mk into mk overhead can kinda be used to bait a whiffed whiffpunish from the opponent, since ken is not walking forward at all after the animation even though it kinda looks like he will  . Can also kinda be used from far away against some characters when they try to whiffpunish ur mk by dashing forward and then hitting buttons. EDIT: or similary, if the opp is jumping from too far away for anti air mk to hit but u do it anyway, and when the opp lands and dashes he might run into the overhead, believing the whiffed mk was not intentional. This is not very good, but actually not unsafe at all (kinda).

For some people, uoh into shoryu is easier than uoh into super, and uoh -> shoryu can be really good even if you dont get it guaranteed, or if u whiff the uoh, whereas the super is easier to handle (block) afterwards due to the super freeze. Though super should always be easier when u get the execution down.
Everyone, remember to buffer the super on “random mid screen UOH” since u can hit limbs or dashing characters with it even from very far away, which if u do almost certainly means a super will hit afterwards. Also u can use the time during the UOH to “scan” the opponent and buffering super, and if you see him hitting a poke or something just unleash the super directly after the UOH for a whiff punish.

B+mkxxsuper will work on standing characters?Im pretty sure it doesnt.

before this last dudes post we were talking about the universal overhead. He wasn’t referring to back+mp when he said he’s seen it connect on standing characters.

the only move kens need against chuns and yuns, learn it !

see you all at evo noobs.

Still trying to find a good use for the MK with the overhead. After an opponent jumps over you (either with a missed cross-up or just hopped over you), you press and hold MK. That’s it.

For when you want something other than MP - HP, or 2x low LK into possible super, or tick throw. Besides that… it looks cool :shy:

I remember seeing (never done) a Ken vs Alex match where Ken whiffed the MK at a distance and Alex went to punish with an EX slash and then ate the overhead.

keep in mind i haven’t played a good Ibuki before and I’m still have alot of matchups to learn, but i find if you use just your lp, lk, mp, and mk while not even touching hp and hk you start taking the edge off her speed and short recovery time and start landing more pokes. hope that helps a bit.

hmm…looking for some matchup specific guides…
especially ken vs chunli…
