Hey guys, new to the Jill forum. Just thought I’d put out some casuals I did the other day and look for some input on how to improve my Jill play. I know my Jill combos are far from optimum and need improvement so any advice would be much appreciated. Thank everyone.

The only reason I can think of that you might do an aerial magic series with Jill is that you missed the:d::d::s: input and accidentally launched. All of her most damaging combos end in Somersault + :qcf::atk::atk:
It’s also my understanding that you’ll want to be in Feral Stance as much as possible, and jumping as little as possible. Jill is all about the floor, and her advantage plummets when she’s in the air. Tron is a free game for Jill because of Somersault, her greatest tool. Learn to abuse its ridiculous invincibility.
I’m guessing you have VJ for the Shocking Pink hit after the OTG grab move. If that’s the only reason, then I would suggest picking someone else since that extra bit of damage is simply not worth it when you can have something else to help cover your weaknesses. Good pick on the Bolts, though, use them to zip around with feral dashes.
Mister E your team definitely isn’t an optimal jill team but it looks like a lot of fun. It isn’t jill related but If you aren’t going to change joe for another character you should probably put strange second so you can use the joe bomb to do an unscaled 7 rings counter in combo. That move does crazy damage and doesn’t scale in combo so its pretty amazing for a level one, and you have the only assist that can activate it

Thanks guys for the comments so far. The reason I go into air magic series with Jill is that for whatever reason in the corner is because I realized my old ender with Somersault+MGS didn’t do as much damage in the corner. I still only do the jump loop because honestly I find it very hard to land raw somesault as my combo starter. I know it leads to the most damage but I still need to work on that for sure. I haven’t found a worthwhile combo that I can I do after ABCSomersault, so I go for the jump loop instead. If anyone can help me with something specific with that I’d appreciate that, even though I know I should learn to expand on combos after raw somersault as it is her best tool. Also Admiral it is true that I do the combo that you mentioned with Joe’s Shocking Pink to get that big damage on Seven Rings. I just have Joe 2nd because I think Strange is a better anchor. I understand what you’re saying Gangie with Joe but I do like to play him, I just thought bomb assist helped her the most in this team scheme seeing as how Strange covers her well and I see no need to double up on projectiles with Voomerang assist. I’ll probably get some more matches up but thanks again for the feedback so far.
It’s cool, we’ve got you covered. I’m prepping a brand new combo thread for ease of access soon, but you can peruse some of the later posts in the current combo/strategy thread for some tips. Maybe consider asking further questions there if your video becomes irrelevant at any point.
No need to fret over lost damage from MGS in the corner, my man; this can be remedied in most combos. Every combo is going to have a ground bounce, most often from Cartwheel and most often in the corner. Unless they’re standing or just centimeters above the ground, the cartwheel ground bounce will take long enough that you can stance cancel the animation and feral dash into the corner to steal it with enough time to take the stance again and Somersault + MGS before the bounce finishes for full damage. Either way, those magic air combos are killing your damage way more than a corner would.
I won’t knock you for playing Joe. If he’s fun, keep doing it by all means. Just know that he’s not exactly optimal. Bolts is still really good, I think.
Its not only that but Jill (depending on the team) uses THC’s at times to get in on a ranged opponent or punish. Now I am only theorizing at this point, but it seems like strange second would be a better THC for jill getting in than joes. This is not to mention Joe is typically not a great character to DHC jill out to safetly with if you need to. The THC with strange should also net you pretty good damage off of a hard kockdown since the spell of ashanti should OTG and pull the oponent up into the MGS. Also the few times your joe end up as anchor you seemed to do quite well, I was surprised.
Honestly as long as you enjoy your team that’s what counts. Besides its nice to see someone not just using wesker/vergil etc

Man, Frank normals are pretty good. And his frametraps are very good as well. Fucking spiral zombies! Unfortunately, each error with Jill = death and level 4 Frank. =(
Those spiral zombies are extremely good, but I think Jill’s crouching will beat it, or at least trade with it every time as long as the zombie hasn’t started flying yet. Once Frank tosses that thing, though, it goes through literally everything.
I didn’t want to risk… Cause I was generally on blockstun (Frank’s slide) when Ramon used the spiral zombies. But I’m gonna go to training room to discover.
Just went 25-1 in PJS’ lobby, the dumbest mistake made me lose my last match, but whatever.
The connection in the lobbty was pretty ass, so I stuck to my normal hitconfirms and command grab setups. I’ll upload when archives go up.
