Rapid slash assist is decent as it is. The main issue is that the start up is kinda slow although you get a forever long hit confirm if it hits.
I think the bigger issue is if people find ways to make play Vergil on point and switch him out so you get DT’d rapid slash. DT’d rapid slash makes regular rapid slash look like web lob assist. Same start up but once it comes out…it’s basically the biggest hit box assist in the game probably.
Once the health values were revealed, it was obvious that Vergil was destined to be an S-tier character. He has 850k health. That perfectly fits the bill of DevilJin’s “less health = more bullshit” rule.
And yes, that also means I believe Strider and RR are going to be high A-tier at the minimum as well. Both of them have insane mobility and tools at their disposable that it doesn’t matter that both of them have very low damage output and are made of glass.
The old tatsu assist is still pretty damn good. I also have a feeling that it’s eating of projectiles will be more important in Ultimate than it was in vanilla.
Following the “less health = more bullshit” rule wesker should be mid tier, also Dr.doom.
I think vergil health is really low, especially for a very unsafe character. And when you see dante, that is better than vergil in almost every way, have more life than him you got to think why.
i really think alot of characters are actually viable this time around so we will see alot of diffrent team make ups which make me happy…i think the only one who outwardly sucks right now is tron who got totally nerfed into oblivion for no reason…i would like to see some awesome Hsien-Ko though
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Though I’ve also noticed some overall changes to the way Heavy attacks “feel”. Its tough to describe and not necessarily related to HSD, but something changed with all the heavies.
Seeing as the Bugs and Glitches Thread (of which we need another) has disappeared, I thought I’d bring up that Down TAC glitch in the LL.ND vs. AndyOCR match during WNF:
At 13:00
I don’t think you could do that in Vanilla, could you? Potential patch coming soon? It does a lot of damage for the effort of a bunch of Down TACs.
People are definitely sleeping on Nemesis, I don’t expect him to be top tier at all, but the guy’s pretty damn good. Still though I place Wesker, Strider and Derpgil at the top of top tier in speculation, Wesker seems unchanged if not way better than he was in Vanilla which is a problem. Derpgil is really combining the best of Vanilla’s top tier and spliced together, Dante + Wesker + Wolverine, and he’s just as stupid as I thought he would be. Strider is just tons fun to play however Ouroboros i’m seeing is not as bad as it seems, its better IMO to start it in the middle of a combo rather than to start one since once blocked it becomes somewhat predictable as in (Spam ouroboros, teleport behind, spam ouroboros, teleport behind again) The blockstrings tend to connect too quickly unfortunately.
However thankfully I don’t think Derpgil is the best character in the game, he lacks safe moves in general and his teleport is VERY unsafe if predicted/baited and he usually dies in one combo due to his low health.
Ghost Rider’s lack of options with air opponents I think really hurts him, not to mention I have a hard time creating an air series with him. I’m theorizing he’s mid at least because he does do damage and the standing heavy is a great move.
The lowered the base hitstun on a fuck ton of moves, and it really does seem like the HSD timer just runs faster to me.
Also, I have learned how to combo into Soul Drain with Hidden Missiles assist. Morrigan may actually be scary this time. Mid Screen is really hard, and for me at least requires a bit of a truncated combo, corner is piss easy and still allows for ending in Finishing Shower.
