I like how I saw the first combo in the first video and was like “holy shit I didn’t even do a combo that long in Vanilla!” LOL.
I would agree with this but some matchups in this game are much worse than they were in vanilla, Hawkeye vs Nemesis or Haggar is almost a 10 - 0 sweep for clint… Its pretty bad hopefully there is a way around it but as it stands now if Nemesis Tron Phoenix or Haggar is your last character vs Hawkeye … good luck.
I wish i could go back an gather all the post from poster saying
"zero is gonna be mad op"
Wesker, Doc Strange, vergil will dominate, Nova, nemesis sucks, frank will suck.
People let hawkeye sleep on by lol…
Its amazing to see people having too eat there words so soon
I’m waiting for people to realize how buff spidey storm and task are now…
Capcom did a amazing job balancing this game this go around im impressed.Everyone feels OP in there own way.
I don’t know if this is the thread to post but what do.you guys think team.romfinite (mag wesker strider)
I think the thing with Nemesis is that he has no mixup. j.:h: can crossup if the opponent moves around it, but that’s it. He does have those command grabs and karas into them, though, which I guess is supposed to make up for the lack of mixups.
I ran into a very good spidey on XBL… Spidey is so fucking serious and Storm seems much faster with her specials this time around… But Spidey is scary as hell once he gets in on you its over. Also you forgot cap… Man so many viable characters this time around.
Dorm is a mixed bag for me. There are some things that got buffed, but a lot of stuff that got nerfed. I think he’s the same in a lot of ways, but obviously there were some changes that sorta change him. For one, he has to go in more often now. I think his zoning game has been nerfed. His cr.mp causes more pushback now, making a move hard to hit confirm even HARDER. He can now chain is medium into his hard, but a lot of times it puts you out of range for a launcher. His flight combo, it’s an added touched, but outside of changing his BNB it doesn’t offer much more.
I'm finding his actual mixups to be scarier though, mainly because of better assist choices. Sentinel drones are actually better, so his mixup game seems scarier. His trijumps are actually easier to do now as well. Overall, I don't think he's top tier. There are characters with better, more brainless offense in teh game. Dorm offense is still centered around setups, and he still needs assist to extend his combos. Definitely think some more combo potential is there, but I'm not sure if he's better on point, or as an anchor. My heart tells me he's a better overall point character, while his anchoring abilities has suffered quite a lot. At the same time he's a meter whore, as he needs to burn meter to to punish things accurately, or finish his combos. He builds it fast, but burn it faster. So I'm struggling to figure out where he belongs on my team, while in the past I always played him on anchor. But with a nerfed carpet, and a nerfed cr.mp, I think it's going to be harder to make him an effective anchor.
Even with pre-animation mashing?
In case anyone didn’t know, you can ‘pre-mash’ during the freeze (and continue doing so) to easily get it all in.
fuk dat nosie these buffs where for Dormammus longevity in this game.
I am having am much more difficult time against Dante than Vergil right now. It will be fun to see them even up with time and maybe Vergil will surpass. I will say that Dante’s teleport is far superior. Vergil has ambiguity, but you can react to where he appears pretty easily. Dante will always have the hammer or no hammer mixup.
Spiderman… -_-…nuff said…I hate that character…too damn safe…too damn little…health not low enough…to damn good…(someone please give me anti-spiderman technology)
as for how the balancing of the game…I really like it…everyone seems to do just enough damage as well as team chemistry is a huge influence on how the game plays
Dormammu, I’m pretty sure, can now combo Cr.L into Cr.H. In Vanilla, it chained, but I don’t think it comboed. Now it’s easier to hit confirm into launcher. This 50/50 safe mixup you guys keep mentioning is not really that good. Sure, if they block, you’re in a good position, but if they get hit, they get wallbounced across the stage. So you get Dark Hole into Chaotic Flame. I guess it’s better than nothing, but it’s not that great. Dormammu just feels so much better, and there’s a lot more style potential. For example, he can do J.:s:, Cr.:l: St.:h: xx Dark Matter + projectile assist, teleport cancel into combo. It even works with stuff like Nemesis Rocket Launcher. Beast.
The projectile itself isn’t that quick (barring XF) nor is its startup. Jumping pretty much negates the effectiveness without an assist back it up. His teleport isn’t all that quick either. Basically, between the travel of the projectile and the travel of Dorm, the 50/50 isn’t on the level Wesker + beam assist or Wolverine + tatsu etc.
Still a great, great tool, especially in XF. It’s an even better tool for spacing and zoning.
You can catch them with a launcher or something after the wall bounce since you teleported to the other side.
I my opinion dormammu doesn’t need the meter that much, his Dark spell is like a super and it can kill in XF3 with it.
Imo hes a much stronger anchor.
This isn’t related to tiers per-se but I couldn’t really find a better place to post this.
I’ve been mesing around alot and noticed a few changes changes that I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else. I can give details if needed.
1)Raw Tag hitboxes reduced.
2)Raw Tag recovery slightly lengthened
3)There is some kind of HSD timer in addition to the individual moves HSD (this is very obnoxious)
I’ve mostly been playing with Nova/RR/Ironfist since Ultimate… seems that all these characters are fairly assist reliant. Any ideas on what new characters are actually solid anchors?

Strideerrrrr
After playing at Starbase I’ve formed a lot of thoughts on the tiers, but I want to play Champ and talk with him a bit before I post my current list. I have a lot of thoughts on various characters and a lot more people feel counterpick tier which I advocate solidly. Characters that have strong, almost oppressive strengths, but also have weaknesses.
What do you think of the general balance of this game so far compared to Vanilla?
