On april 15th Nickel City will be having a LOCKIN. Meaning for a fixed fee($10.00) games will be on free-play THE WHOLE NIGHT…So yea imagine a whole night of SLASH or marvel or 3rd strike…FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT…there will also be a tournament for all games if ppl are interested. So yea on APRIL 15th you chickenheads better be there.
Fee:$10.00 from 11pm-7am
must be 18 or older(if you’re not older than 18 you must get parents permission and have them call nickel city).
Games: Mvc2, SLASH,3s,Tekken,cvs2,yea all the fighting games PLUS…DDR,MARIO KART AND INITIAL D!!!
must be willing to bring strippers and booze(ok so i made that last one up…but strippers would be nice).
er… well, we should have the illinites tournament on april 28th. I havent heard back from the illinites committee to confirm that.
I dunno … we had to plan way ahead for the whole MWC thing before. Well, andy definitely could make it there. Besides, who wants some wrinkly old strippers newayz? (^_^)

So anyways, we need to get flyers done before friday so the illinites committee can send out flyer requests and we get all the advertisements made for us. We have to put them up ourselves though.
We might still need to submit it to housing so that we can put it up in the housing locations. If we get approval, then I think the housing staff will put it up for us.

I think a flyer with a character from both games would be appealing. Hmmm. Going off Dan’s idea, a flyer of Dizzy getting freaky with Dr. Mario would be eye catching.

if you play pot in gg, then you might want to go for ganon. he’s the big, ugly, powerful counterpart in smash.

i’d personally think it would be fun to do tag for gg also, but that is only if anybody else is interested.
Here are some pretty standard Team Tourney Rules (I’ve made a couple of minor modifications):
Tournament Rules
?Double Elimination (or RR elim if time allows)
?All matches are best of 3, with finals best of 5.
?4 stock, 8 minute limit
?Ties broken by lives/percentage
?Items OFF
?Team Attack ON
? Life stealing allowed
?Stages/Characters:
??Stages limited to the 5 neutral stages for random, others open for counterpicks.
??Neutral stages: Final Destination, Yoshi’s Story, Battlefield, Kirby 64, Pokemon Stadium
??Stages banned: Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi’s Island, MKI, MKII, Venom, Big Blue, Flatzone, Icicle Mountain, Hyrule Temple, Fourside, Brinstar Depths, Termina, and Yoshi’s Island 64
??Dave’s Stupid Rule: You may not counterpick a stage on which you have already won.
?Advanced Slob Picks - Loser may choose the next stage or elect to go random, then winner may choose to change characters, then loser may change characters
?Double Blind pick may be called at any time for initial character selection.
Other Rules & Special Issues
– Stupid Ignatius Rule - If you want the game paused, your opponent must pause it.
– Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc), except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are banned. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be disqualified from the tournament.
– Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to use that controller any longer.
–Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them (Mewtwo’s Soul Stunner, the Ice Climber freeze glitch), or any glitch or trick that freezes the match or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the immediate forfeit of the match.
– Tactics such as Peach’s Wallbombing and Jiggly’s Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or to manuever around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively stall a match, such as dropping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath, is banned. Judges will be on the tournament floor can be called in at any time to enforce this rule during a match.
–You are responsible to BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER.
The rules for a standard singles tourney are almost the same. The main difference is that Fountain of Dreams is added to the random selection and not banned. It is banned in teams b/c of lag. If you see something that you’d like changed, let me know.

i personally think “SoCOM FG: Society fo Competitive Fighting Games” is too long. There’s no need to repeat same thing twice, and since people wouldn’t understand the SoCOM FG abbreviation, we should just go with Society for Competitive Fightign Games.
