So message from HONG KONG! (in light of wut we are talking about) I am in Hong Kong for break now, going to taiwan in a few days. I WANNA PLAY SOME GUILTY GEAR!!!
I did see some 3s players though, they didn’t seem terribly good, but I had no change on me, and also I m not that good at 3s (also, I don’t play on stick).
So yeah, I am enjoying myself here, somewhat. Hope you are all having a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
sounds good, we have a month and a half or so to decide?
I should pick up stick if I am gonna play slash heh. I played slash in Taiwan. I went to Da Yong, the place where the taiwanese SBO players hangout, and apparently the best players in Taiwan. Steve took me there, wuz quite a trip, ton of fun.
hey okay, i m in taiwan, and there is the HRAP2 on sale, and the new soul calibur III stick. SCIII stick costs more than the HRAP2, any particular reason it is more expensive? which is better?
Thinking of getting a stick, but its a big hassle to carry it back, i m just tryin to keep my options open.
slash is coming out on console, in the spring. they announced it, but we dunno bout an exact date (unless something came up while i am in taiwan). I dunno how to keep updated here.
i plan on ordering an octagonal restrictor plate, bat top and button plugs from himura games. anybody want in on the ordering? i was thinking we could do a group buy (if anyone wants anything) and save on shipping once we get back to school.
i played slaaaaash when i was in aomori!! i was playing arcade, then more people came and i ended up playing them. i actually won 2 matches then got wrecked. i was kinda embarrassed with my skill so i just watched from the side for rest of the duration.
i picked that ugly-ass christmas tree color too. i wanted blonde/white dizzy
i dunno what you’re confused about. the HRAPs have square restrictor plates (like scott’s) so theres only 4 grooves (the four corners) rather than 8 (four corners and four directions). i think that’s how it is… one or the other. anyways, this is what scott bitches about alot when playing on his stick =) I wanted a bat top cuz well… i think i’d like it better than the ball tops and then i plan on taking out the L1 and L2 buttons so i dont press them by accident or get confused cuz the L1 and L2 buttons are to the right of R1 and R2. that’s what the button plugs are for.
i was hoping some other people would want to order something, this way we could split the shipping and save everyone a couple bucks.
I just got my stick, is it better to switch out the hori buttons for sanwa buttons? or would it be fine to leave the hori ones in?
Aiite, so the plan is, I get everything for the club renewed. I want to figure out who else is gonna help out with stuff so that I can get their names on the official renewal sheet. This way, these people get full access to signing out stuff, room/building access to the rooms we reserve, and so forth.
Dan, and me ought to take a trip up to siebel so we both get room access and sign out the rooms again.
I still wanna do a tournament for Illinites sometime. I saw Feb. or Mar. Illinites, for whenever weekend it is. I am also keeping in mind about MWC4 coming up, which I think we should try to make plans for rides, where to stay, and who is going. I ll make a club announcement some time.
I wanna redo the e-mail list so that we can make it anonymous, and I dunno, think we need a website? Maybe for reference? Anyone here really good with HTML? I can do HTML but my HTML is a bit unclean.
buttons, its up to you. sanwa/seimitsu buttons are supposed to be super sensitive. i plan on switching them out if i can afford it.
see if you can get tvs instead of projectors. i really dont understand how you can play with the lag from projectors. all that muscle memory just goes out the window.
for illinites, i think we talked about this before, but someone’s gotta provide the controllers. i dont know about you but i honestly wouldnt want random people playing with my controllers.
for mwc (i’m assuming you’re talking about midwest challenge?), theres a red roof inn right by nickel city. they probably mention it in the mwc thread. that’s your best bet unless you can find housing nearby.
Siebel doesn’t have tvs. Dan said it is fine for tekken, then I will leave those rooms to Dan. The guilty gear people have been at scott’s for the past couple months, though, if we want tvs, we are going to have to find another place to go. Any suggestions?
well, for illinites, i guess we can always get ebgames to sponsor it right? borrow some controllers or what not. Or we can always make it BYOC for the most part.
you think are going to go drew? they have 3s for mwc. I guess we would have to figure out rooms for a hotel though.
well i like playing in siebel cuz it’s a spacious area with chairs and space for everyone to come and hang around and then leave whenever they want. it’s kinda harder when it’s at someone’s apartment i think. duno where else we could set up something.
mwc sounds cool but figuring out how to get there will probably be the biggest problem. i would liek to go if there is enough space to go around. i have yet to see or enter a big tournament.
