good games! i thought the turnout was pretty good. Sorry andrew bout the tables, I ll get tables next time we decided to have one.
I am wonderin when is a good time for another tournament. I say probably much much further down the line, but then we can always set out another tournament date and hopefully we have a ton more people.
I can also get flyer approval for it, so we won’t have our flyers torn down.

Tourney went pretty well, I think. GG’s to everybody and props to the guys that came down to Champaign to play.
FINALLY! We got rooms 3403 and 3405 at siebel center. So anyways, first general meeting is next monday, the 26th. Hope there are still people interested in this club now.
Now we have to decide what we want to do for the first meeting. Scott said we should discuss who should bring what. I figure we can still discuss stuff and have some time to play casuals. Exhibition maybe?
Show them what we are aiming for in this club and not for any of that scrub attitude. No screw around gaming, something more serious.
Oh yeah, next monday, before our general meeting. I am going to the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) executive meeting to make our club officially part of ACM.
We have 3 choices:
(1) We become associated with Gamebuilders, which is a SIG (Special Interst Group) in ACM. This was the original idea. Through Gamebuilders we can get access to facilities in siebel, though we would have to get approval for what we do through Gamebuilders as opposed to doing stuff on our own.
(2) We become a SIG in ACM. We would have to expand our purpose. Establish the club as a discussion board for conceptual game developing and such. Discuss what makes current games bad/good, or how certain aspects of what games make them successful. I am just tossing out ideas.
(3) We have a partnership with Gamebuilders. This pretty much is just good for publicity purposes, and then they can help us out.
That is pretty much our options. I have to present the idea to the executive board. Any suggestions? Opinions?

I like option 2, just cus it would make us a standalone club… But I don’t know how we would ‘expand our prupose’.

i think for the first meeting casuals are fine. “exhibition” matches sounds a bit snobby lol. i can bring my ps2 if so needed.
as for the acm thing, i think option 1 or 3 is probably the best idea. i duno wtf we could do for option 2. talk about game design? i luv sirlin and all, but i duno what we could really discuss on that matter that ppl couldn’t just go to his website and read it.
