if we’re gonna have casualas after tournament, where is it gonna be at? i might be going out but not sure yet.
also, what are we gonna do with macros? i already stated in the tournament rules that it’s banned, and i personally would like to keep it that way. i know there will be several players at this tournament who are novices unaccustomed to competitive play, but i think we should be maintaining certain degree of standards. we never allowed macros in any of our past tournaments for any games (back to spring '05). in casuals, we could probably let it slip for a while but i don’t think we should allow it in tourneys. also, if we did allow macros some people would do stupid stuff like ppp or kkk on one button in 3s and it would also take forever for people to set up their controls before almost every match.
i actually didn’t think about that for 3s. We could ban button macro-ing on 3s, and allow it for guilty gear. I don’t think its that bad for guilty gear since it is a small tournament. Though, for 3s, that just seems dumb.
I guess we can have casuals at my place if you guys want. Or we can jack MPR.
i have thought about changing the rules for gg just for chris, but i think it would be a problem if we allowed macros for one game and not the other. which is why i think there should be a total ban for both gg and 3s.
no offense to chris, but people who play on pad (or used to play pad) all learned to frc with their thumb. especially since axl’s rensengeki is a move with s button, it shouldn’t be hard to frc at all since you don’t need to shift your thumb unlike moves with p, k or h button on pad configuration. so i think it is okay for you to do it in casuals for a while, but not in a tourney. if you consider yourself as a serious gg player, you should change the way you play.
everybody would pretty much agree that the idea of one-button ex hadouken is stupid. how is it any different with frc?
ive never played a tournament before, but i joined both 3s and gg, and i use a Tekken 5 hori stick. its the cheapest one i could find (i actually have 2) at $50 and its the closest i can get to a jap stick, although im not really concerned with having sawna parts and whatnot. i cant use a pad with any games anymore, since im accustomed to using the t5 stick for most everything
looking forward to seeing some excellent players and skill on sat, dont be too brutal on me
and the thing is… i don’t think most of us remember you except for like me, andrew and scott.
anyhow, i just talked to seth to let him know that we will get things rolling around 1:30 tomorrow. jerry and scott, you guys need to be there early. i’ll bring my ps2 and slash, and scott can do the same too (although not sure if we need 2 set-ups for slash). jerry, make sure to remind people like joe, steve and danchin to be there before 2:00. i want little delay as possible. and who’s the dumbass scrub that scribbled down that retarded comment in the slash sign-up sheet? order-sol isn’t broken, he’s shitty.
also, who wants to join me at murphy’s tomorrow for lunch? call me if you dig. (847) 431-1006.
i’m going out tonight so no games. see y’all tomorrow.
