You need to buy some software online to be able to rip games onto a PS2 HDD. How to get Japanese games on that, I don’t know. Also, good luck on finding an HDD.
EDIT: You could ask how in the Chicago thread. Kenny, s/n: RiotEXE, rips import and burned games onto his PS2 HDD. He should know, should he respond.

To use HDLoader, you need a couple of things:
1: PS2 network adapter
2: An off-the-shelf IDE hard drive that fits the network adapter (from what I understand, Maxtor works the best).
3: A copy of the HDLoader Disc
Basicallly, you plug the hard drive into the network adapter, then you plug that into your PS2. Then you use the included disc to install everything, then start ripping games.

Ive looked into them and people say they dont lag at all, i ordered the total control plus ones from play asia.
