i actually don’t expect much out of TILT, but it doesn’t hurt to put in a few suggestions.
as for the whole union business. i thought chris knew more about how the venders n all worked and was going to go talk to them, since he is probably hangs out at the union more than any of us do cuz of his DDR/ITG gaming thing.
That’s not the point! If I told you I had a magic rock that kept dragons away and then gave it to you, would you keep it in your room? It’s not hurting anything to do so but it’s fucking stupid regardless.
stephane, james… when are you free to depart for frx? remember the drive is like 10-13 hrs (not exactly sure how long). once i know when you can leave then i can make more concrete plans and tell you exactly when we’ll leave… (it feels like ive said the same thing five times in this message)
im not sure how much stephane checks the boards, can someone IM and have him reply?
basically, there is a big difference between putting a tard rock in your room to make yourself look like a tard, and taking 5 minutes to talk to the tilt about some of your suggestions conveniently on ur way to the mall, from the mall, or just when you are at the mall.
its better than sitting around and telling yourself “oh they won’t do nethin” when you havent even tried, and then go “hey i wish we had a 3s/gg/pocket fighter/puzzle fighter cabinet.” if they say no, then fine, end of story. if they take what you say into consideration, then cool u got a chance to get yourself a 3s/gg/pocket fighter/ puzzle fighter cabinet. you don’t lose nethin, while on the other hand, the dragon warding stone makes you lose face.
OK, clearly then you are unexperienced when it comes to dealing with Tilt. There is no way they will ever get good games and keep them in working order. I’ve seen it happen at least three times with multiple Tilts, and it’s always the same thing. The Tilt manager tells somebody that they are going to get some game, they might even say that they’ve put the order in. The person they talked to gets super excited and the community gets all hyped up… but the Tilt guy NEVER delivers because he works for a shitty corporate arcade. So, no, it’s NOT better to talk to Tilt because the ONLY things you’ll get are false hope and possibly crushed dreams, depending on how invested you are in the whole debacle.
So the analogy stands. At best, your rock doesn’t do shit. At worst, you look like an idiot because you have a fucking magic rock in your room.
Go talk to them if you want to. But I don’t want to see you posting on the newsgroup that they’re going to get AC or 3S after you’ve talked to some douche at Tilt because it has NEVER happened and it NEVER will.
you’re better off trying to get the union arcade to get some fighting game. they have the machines already and just need the kits. plus, they actually care about their community. and seriously, who the hell wants to go all the way to the mall just to play? i wouldn’t mind walking to the union but bugging someone to drive me to the mall just to play? waste of time
yeah sorry i think you misunderstood when you assumed i m emotionally investing into this.
granted even if that 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance they get something, it probably won’t come until after i graduated.
yes, sir…we have a few notable 3S heads, plus, if you can catch them when they’re not busy, we have a couple of SICK MVC2 cats – and not sick, like, sick compared to my younger brother’s friends. i mean, like, they comprised the Midwest team @ Evo. about 3-4 years ago. also, if you’re interested HUGE Guilty Gear scene here, not to mention some quirky, off the radar SNK stuff.
Its a pretty damn tough school to get into. It is in the top 5 engineering schools in the nation. There is also Parkland Cpllege here which seems like a good place as well.
Andy: I only have to go to my CS lab at like 11am, but I am able to go to it early so i could technically just turn it in right at 11. Im completely done after that.
