Sega isn’t even trying anymore. They have a new IP that doesn’t really appeal to me coming out, and they’ve been ignoring everything that isn’t Sonic. I expect some of their talent to go elsewhere.

I don’t see why not. I never played an UFC game, but it looks more of an sports simulator game (kind of like Fifa, Madden, NHL) than a fantasy fighting game we’re used to. Nothing wrong with trying to be a realistic fighting game, but it’ll take time and effort ($) to gather a fanbase and beat the prejudice on the fighting game community.
If the fans are behind it, and there’s a good level of competition, it deserves to be there as much as any other fighter.
Then again, I’d fly to Vegas myself if they put in WCW/nWo Revenge haha

Eh…Does it have a supportive community? Y/N is your answer on whether or not it gets into EVO. It would make me kinda sad if they just randomly threw it into the line up when AH3 can’t get the spotlight or the melty people get boned like no other. I liked playing the game offline against my friends who knew how to play. I hated playing it online.

I do NOT want an arcade fighter experience with a UFC Simulation game. I want it to be the real thing.
What I want back are slams without use of the cage, effective sweeps, wall 'n stall to be more effective.

Except for BBB2 and possibly Melty, if they are doing 5/6 games a year, how the hell is UFC gonna fit anywhere on the official lineup. It is BS if it gets in over ANYONE of these games. Side tourney, maybe, they they are asking too much if they want it to be on the official lineup.
Doesn’t Nintendo forbid Smash tournament footage to be streamed? I believed that a MLG event wanted to stream brawl, but didn’t give permisison. If that is true then fuck Nintendo, most of us don’t want your shitty game if you feel you are too good to have your game broadcast.
If UFC and THQ can do something to help the fighting came community and make a legitimate competitive game I don’t see why not, but it also needs to build a stronger following than other games in contention for an Evo spot.
Maybe they should throw their own events if they want it so bad instead of riding coat tails of organizers. I don’t see THQ doing anything to help out Spooky, CEO, Levelup, or any tournament, and now they want something? Something as simple as showing up at a tournament and throwing raffles could go a long way.
If this game does get in, Valle will win EVO.
Jokes aside, I’m not sure what to think of this. On one hand, I suppose it’s great that the devs want this game to be competitive. On the other, is how the audience will be. I don’t want a bunch of idiots at EVO yelling like stream monsters when a game that is not UFC is on.
Then again, the EVO staff probably won’t let that happen.
if they really want UFC game to have a competitive tournament, maybe they should just have it in … i dunno , actual UFC events? have UFC promotions promote it? and not shoehorn themselves in game tournaments like EVO? it might work better for them.
I believe the point is that EVO now has a bit of prestige to it - being the premiere fighting game tournament in the west.

I don’t approve of how people are trying to buy themselves in to EVO or as a tournament worthy game, isn’t it up to the players in the end? But I guess people play anything as long as there’s some dollars involved.
If the game is good and competitive and very popular I don’t see why it wouldn’t be at EVO, but I don’t wanna see it there for any other reasons.
UFC is one of the most boring sports and it makes for some of the most boring games.
