What’s harder to become… an UFC world champion or an EVO world champion?
The sum of all things considered: money/time investment, age, ethnicity, learning curve, breaking into the scene, mental fortitude, mind games, physical strength, diet and vitamins, drugs, sex changes, intelligence quotient, attitude, injuries, reaction time, etc. Anything you could consider a difficulty in becoming a world champion in their respective community.
Sum up this difficulty and give an answer with at least some explanation. The more elaborate the better.
Personally, I think the time investment is the most important thing to consider, but I’d like to hear what you guys have to say.
Back story: argument with a friend, I think this argument is subjective and he thinks it’s objective. This is where stupid questions go, right?
Evo champ. Potentially you could do it within a year while the fights alone you would have to win just to get considered to be signed by the UFC would take longer, let alone then get in and become champ.
I’d say UFC is harder, partly because there are a lot of barriers for getting into the UFC, then once there you have to work up from the undercard, onto the main event show and then work your way up to title contention. While fights can be quite frequent before you hit the UFC, once you’re in the UFC you’ll only be looking at a few fights a year. Even if you’re a natural to fighting, its going to take years to get to the top, and thats assuming no injuries etc.
By no means is Evo easy, and you can take just as many years to get to the level when you can get to the top. But ultimately you just need to pay for your entrance and play. The only real barrier is skill and knowledge. Whereas MMA there are physical barriers, mental barriers, skill barriers and time barriers.
