okay tier time
Top Tier: Chuck
Low tier: Shogun
You pretty much know all the tiers without having to play the game, if it’s realistic at all.
Top Tier: Anderson Silva, GSP, Frank Mir
Mid Tier: Shogun, Jardine, Wanderlei Silva
Bottom Tier: Kyle Bradley, Eddie Sanchez, Nakamura
Chuck’s striking is better than Shogun’s, but Shogun is the more well rounded fighter. If you learn how to play while using Shogun, it helps you learn all aspects of the game, making you more versatile. Rubber guard is ridiculously good on the ground. Playing as Chuck, you really have only one thing going for you.
So I wouldn’t put Chuck in the top tier because if you can neutralize his standup, his entire offense is gone.
Playcircus, you totally left out the Lightweight division haha. Also left out the top tier fighter for the Light Heavyweight division which is probably Rashad since he’s the champ and I don’t think they’d rate somebody higher than the current champ.
nah chuck is CLEARLY top tier at least in the demo. OHKO power anytime he throws anything, his sprawl makes takedowns nearly impossible, and the only time you can sub him at all is when his stamina is so low you could be doing yourself a favor k.o.ing him on the feet with a flurry.
People are underestimating Shogun’s Tiger Knee. If you can catch Lidell whiffing a bigger punch, Tiger Knee for an auto knockdown.
Did it 2 matches in a row.
Im hyped but not too hyped to purchase it yet, my xbl is down so i cant even try the demo, so Imma rent this bad boy out. Ive seen the videos and what not it loos hella complicated… but at the same time it could be button mashy.
Yea but like I said, if you neutralize his standup, he’s done for. While being Shogun, I do a lot of push kicks and leg kicks to keep distance. And if Chuck decides to try and close in on the distance, he’ll probably get 1 or 2 shots in before I counter one and end up in the clinch. His sprawl is good, but if you counter a kick, that’s an instant takedown. And if you counter a punch, you end up in a body clinch. His sprawl is worthless if he’s in a body clinch and you pull guard.
Then you can pull rubber guard, and reverse to do some ground n pound. Or if it’s late into the fight, rubber guard can move to a triangle. It works like a charm on human and AI Chuck.
Chuck just seems powerful because striking is the easiest aspect in the game for anybody to learn and the KOs look devastating. I’m glad they nailed both of the characters’ strengths and weaknesses down in the game. Essentially, I play Shogun exactly how he is in real life. Good in the clinch, brutal knees, and dominating ground game.
Can’t handle my riddum!
Edit: As far as button mashing goes. Countering is the way to go, button mashers won’t win.
Can’t get enough of the demo, play it pretty much every day I go to a friend’s house, can’t wait for the full game and be able to choose more then just Chuck or Shogun. My big thing with this game is if the fighter creation mode will be any good? I really hope they went really in depth with it.
same here re: Shogun, I finmd body kicks work incredibly well, amost better than jabs but with Shogun, I like to use the clinch, take Chuck down when he whiffs a strike, and work for a GnP since Chuck can’t be subbed really. Like the Fight Night Round 4 community I’m also a part of, I wonder how many ppl online will be into playing a sim paced game. Probably not many.
Mir on the same level as GSP or Anderson? Jesus Christ you are on some good shit.
Yeah, what this guy said.
i dld the demo and im hooked, this game rocks. its actually really deep and feels real. even though its just a demo i cant stop playing i really want to get this game. im playing as shogun and i like it alot better than liddell im playing on expert cpu and i cant pretty much take chuck down by just standing with him and gettim him in the occaisonal muay thai clinch to mass knees and whip mixup. but where i struggle is the ground. ive seen the cpu do rubber guards and shit with shogun but i have no idea how to do that i dont think it says in the tutorial either
edit: how do you do push kicks?
You do push kicks by tapping forward twice and then kicking. Sometimes leads to a spinning back kick. Both Shogun and Chuck can do it. Shogun has a really good punch using this motion as well.
ah ty, do you know how to get into rubber guard with shogun?
(where hes on his back and gets his own foot and leg set up behind chucks back for a submission)
left bumper + upside down qcf or something like that
Yeah what Ronin said. Once you’ve locked the rubber guard in, you can do the same motion again with either the left bumper or left trigger, and you’ll go for a major transition. One will result in a full mount (what the cpu does a lot), or you will end up being able to take Chuck’s back.
Also, when you’re on top and you’re Chuck, if you do the same motions (left bumper/trigger, qcf turns), you can go for a slam and also stand up inside of Shogun’s guard.
The only thing I’m disappointed about so far, is the aspect of people online using turbo controllers. I hope it doesn’t create a crazy unbeatable advantage. Even though you can counter takedowns and stuff transitions, if you mess up or mistime it once, they’ll get in and switch on the turbo.
Chucks not above Shogun.Chuck’s so one dim.
Anyway, UFC is a must buy for me! I like it alot.
I’m hopin Maia is class in this. Silky jits!
Also, no Clay Guida or Jeremy Horn? Why not, they both deserve to be in the game!
I know he’s not in real life, but they released the HW ratings and Mir was 92 or something like that, he’s the highest rated in the HW division in this game.
tyvm guys, damn i had no idea you could go for the slam and what not, does shogun do anything with left bumper if hes on top?
