Not sure exactly what your problem is but I found that if you do the motions slowly and precisely, it’ll register everytime. Not that you’ll be successful everytime, but you’ll see your fighter go into the animation. Whether or not you’re successful depends on your defense rating vs the opponent’s offense rating and also both of your stamina.
That might be it, maybe I’m doing the motion to fast. (I always do them fast. Too much SF I suppose.) I’ll give it a shot, because my person is not even registering the motion.
BTW, your av owns. Zero is the man.
It’s gonna take me a long time to get used to the defense in this game. I know it’s bad to always block high but I can’t see the hits coming and block appropriately.
Rubber Guard owns me.
this game, is really, really fun. my ONLY gripe is that you cant see ping in ranked matches WTF!? every SINGLE!!! ranked match i play is the LAGGIEST piece of crap match ive ever played. all myy losses i can attribute to the lag and my escapes and transitions not registering in time.
yeah Rubber Guard is really raping me too.
So is anyone else having a really hard time finding anyone online on the PS3 version? I either can’t find anyone or the game gets disconnected before it even loads the fighter select screen. Anyways, add me guys, but only if you’re ready to get ROCKED.
Beginning to get pissed with this game. Would someone care to take a few minutes to explain the ground transitions from mount defense from me. If I get taken down and end up on the bottom, I can’t seem to do anything but grab the head. This (obviously) does not work on the better fighers: I.e. Rashad Evans, Rampage, etc. and I wind up getting knocked the f*ck out.
Help!!
Seems kinda bullshit that you need to train your fighter technique [be it striking or grappling] requires 3 times in Career Mode.
You need 150 points to level, you get 7 objectives giving you 10 points each for completing each one correctly. Some are kinda easy [do a take down or perform a one-two combo] while others are a bit more difficult [block a transition] and others are down right retarded if the AI does not want to cooperate [You hit the guy on the ground in an Up/Down offense but the AI won’t stay on the ground for ONE SECOND].
The points to get carried over either. So there is no point in getting over 150 points. You try to shoot for 50 points / 5 objectives per session. If not you might have to do 6 or 7 which can be really hard or downright impossible if the AI is not cooperating. Hell the AI is supposed to sit there and just take it! There were times where the fucker would just reverse me and I would have to waste time getting back to the position to fix the objective.
The good thing about Career mode is that you can seriously buff your guy up stat-wise compared to a Create-A-Fighter made character. You just need to be calculating on how you do it. Also you need to be careful because as your attributes get closer to cap [Strength/Stamina/Speed] you will lose points to your other attributes. Plus each weight class has a different cap on certain attributes. Lightweights I think the furthest they can go is 80 strength but 100 stamina / cardio.
I really suggest you guys that are having trouble with Transitions to go into Practice mode and put the AI on Positive Grapple and then go from there. Because if you are having trouble doing the basic stuff, going to the Grappling camps WILL make you go insane. I have a decent grasp of the grappling game and I find it sometimes annoying because there would be 2 objectives that require me to counter/do something complicated against the AI and the AI won’t cooperate.
You’ve articulated my thoughts on this game perfectly. Bravo.:wgrin:
I have found ranked to be very laggy, having a currently bad record of 20-39, but once I’ve found all the spammers use the same tactics I block everything (all headshots) I easily can use bodykicks to stop them. Bodykicks stop superman punches cold. I’m trying to experiment with basic jab jab, straight, hook combos too. (Nobody I’m playing online is putting combos together) I lost to a decent Cheick Kongo with an ok ground game, but then the guy DC’ed. I also KO’ed a guy’s Rampage by GnP in a fight I needed to win, and it was a title fight and the guy DC’ed. I called some guy out on a DC after I dominated his Gonzaga for a round. I wish the blocking system had a natural consequence, like FN Round 4 will have, b/c it seems a lot of Cro Cop’s kicks connect clean, when I use him even if blocked… Gotta rep the PRIDE days… What’s the best way to maneuver out on the receiving end of a Thai clinch? All the Anderson nuthuggers are constantly doing that.
if you press the right thumbstick in any direction its a transition block. in other words this keeps them on the ground
ive noticed that almost nobody realizes this. i just flat out dominate 90% of people on live. i just keep them on the ground all fight and work my ground and pound. its hilarious how many peioplke call me a pussy. yeah im sorry im actually playing the game and not trying to play fight night in ufc. people are dumb
I do the same thing, fucking ground game is where it’s at. I was expecting to go all out stand up but you can purely rape on the ground. People have called me a pussy for it, but do I really want to do a stand up fight against Rampage Jackson? GSP? I use Brandon Vera for Light Heavyweight/Heavyweight, I haven’t decided on anything else yet.
This game is awesome. There are a few flaws but what has been presented is really good, and shows tons of promise for the future.
The Only Negatives I can find are:
-Create a Fighter=Sucks Bawllsax
-Soundtrack is effing horrible, It breaks my heart that crappy jet-ski games put Del songs on the Sountrack, and a good game like this is stuck with garbage. (It’s bad when the UFC Theme is the best song on the game: real talk)
-The Diagonal Menus SUCK. Diagonal is cool for the transition screens and even for selecting main catagories, but damn, almost everything is diagonal.
-The amount of Sub Menus is atrocious (EG: When managing your Sponsor-Logos you have to click EDIT CHARACTER-EDIT ATTIRE-EDIT SHORTS-PICK SHORTS-EDIT SHORTS-EDIT CURRENT SHORTS-PICK LOGO-PICK LOCATION-PICK SIZE!!@!@!@! and then to top it off you have to press B to back out of those 3424 screens.
-Auto save, How the hell do you turn it off? And is it necessary to have 6 screens that scroll to indicate every detail of the saving process?!
Besides those minor issues, the game itself is solid, It’s way fun,
Battle me on XB360 Mekishiko916
PS: Anyone have any idea how to get of of a MT Clench or one handed collar clench? I got the game totally figured out but I feel like when/if i escape a clench its luck/random.
Up on the right stick if they’re punching you in the face, down if they’re hittin’ low.
I love people in ranked. Some kid just did super man punches and I blocked everything until he ran out of stamina then I brought him down and submitted him. He sends me a message saying I was cheating and using a turbo controller…
lol
I second this. Hopefully, they’ll straighten this out next year. This game is extremely fun, but the more you play, the more things you find wrong with it that can be frustrating.
yeah dude i know, fuckign yeah im gonna stand up against fucking brock lesnar when my guy has a 55 is standing strikes and 75 in ground strikes. im a pussy
see the lame thign about this game is, that that tactic shouldnt work at all. but about 3 times now my opponent has had like 40% stam and i have 85% and he gets a random superman after throwing em all fight and knocks me out in one. one time it was a counter punch and that makes sense, but the other times i wasnt even doing anything and they get ko me, no rocked scene or anything. it just makes me angry
So if I want to make a good created fighter, does it matter what difficutly I go through career mode on? Anyone have a basic guide for maxing my guy out, or is it pretty easy?
I move in circles so the shit just rubs me instead of raping through my block, works a lot better.
thanks for the tip, I’m going to try that. I circle around the octagon anyway but I’m going to circle farther outside
This game sells like crazy at my Gamestop. There will definitely be a UFC 2010.
In the next game I hope they add foot stomps and shin blocking(actually blocking low kicks). Also I want to see Karate and Sambo added to the technique list.
