Location: 5295 Toscana Way #715, San Diego, CA, 92122
Time: 2-4pm - warmups/casuals
4pm-whenever - qualifiers
How this’ll work: I’ve already given a spot to someone coming down from Norcal who’s UCSD alumni. So essentially, they are going to be 4 spots up for grabs for Rival Schools. Hopefully we will have a decent amount of setups when this thing starts.
Current setups: There are currently 3 setups available. One of which has 2 sticks (one TE/one Hori). If you’re interested in going, PLEASE bring a setup or at least bring your own stick, preferably a setup.
Note: In order to participate in the qualifier, you have to have some sort of UCSD identification.
Send me a message on Facebook for questions or on the SRK thread:
So, yeah, I know this thread is like 2 months old but there doesn’t seem like much of a reason to start a new one. I just transferred into UCSD (the village), so I’m curious if there’s anyone else or some semblance of a scene on or around campus, for SSF4 or anything else really.
Triton eye is the one and only truth about UCSD.
As for the scene, I know that there is one, but I don’t know how you can contact them. lol
UCSD participated in last year’s Rival Schools, so.
Hey guys, I’m Ilija from the Team UCSD above me. For the most part, I can give you the gist of what’s with the scene at UCSD.
Sann Chhan ran a club called UCSD Round Ruckus. For the most part, it was a very small club because we always had the same 7 people or so that would attend the sessions, which we already knew. We saw a lot of people join the Facebook group but no one was dedicated to play and get better or even bother to attend just one session. So it kinda died out and we would just play at each other’s apartments during our own spare time. Most players ended up graduating so a lot of our scene went away but we still have one.
We still have some players at UCSD that play and are quite serious about the game, 2 of which live in my apt. at the moment. I’m down for games if people are willing to play. If enough interest generates and people are actually interested in playing, then I can try to set up a Round Ruckus session or something. For now, just post in this thread if you want to play or so and let me brush off the rust. We can even plan shiz later like driving to Box or w/e.
I’ve been looking forever for SF4/SSF4 people. I tried doing an on-campus weekly thing last year but it kinda died down since school got really hard for me. Are there weekly sessions going on?
Yea I’m down for sessions. Where are these usually held, I’m a first year student in Marshall. So happy that there is a scene here I’ve been dying to find one!
Hey AyoChip, sorry for the late reply. If the date is around Nov. 14th, I’ll probably try to message you or something if we’re going to be competing. I’ll tell you like at least a week or two prior.
