UCSD 3rd Strike is now DEAD. RIP

i’ll be busy this week, but in the future i’ll definitely be interested in carpooling / sharing a room. it’ll be cheaper for sure

I was thinking the same thing about the train, but I’m not too sure about the room part though it does sound pretty cool.

Have you guys taken the train up before? I remember denjin being like 5 miles from the train station.

i haven’t, it sounds pretty cool though, how much is the train ride

About 25 - 30 dollars, from the Solana beach station, which has free parking to the Simi valley station. ><!

anyone drive? id prefer going in a car but i think ive driven like 1000 times to denjin/ffa so im cool off of driving for a bit.

i drive, but i share the car with a roomate,
plus my car is honestly the smallest piece of crap on earth (2000 chevy metro lsi)
no power steering :frowning:
but it’s just a rental!

any of you guys play tekken at all? or it’s just straight up 3rd strike and maybe 2-d games?

I’ll play tekken, but tekken 6 isn’t in any arcades down here, so tekken 5:dr is the only option. Bloodline Rebellion is coming out in fall, so it’s gonna be a while.

My car is as great as my 3s skills, which means we probably won’t make it to Denjin in my car.

Well, it’s about time I found this thread. I’m probably one of the low tier players someone mentioned way earlier in the thread. Actually, I’m probably the only one there - I play Remy, Q, 12, Ibuki, and Yang (last two are recent pick ups). Still a bit scrubby, but scrubbiness will disappear in time. Nice to meet you guys. I tend to play MWF 10-11 am and then stop by again at around 12:15 and 2. On Thursdays I’m there for a bit at around 12.

I started playing about a year ago when my friend and I went to shoguns to eat lunch. Eventually we just somehow migrated over to the machine and played a bit. He only played that time, but I went back to the machine every now and then when I got the chance and eventually learned how to play. I’m an absolute fighting game nut, so eventually the game just stuck to me.

There’s a few people who play throughout the day, but probably the best time to go would be around 11:30. I can try to keep tabs on when there are more people around when I can. A lot seem to have class at 1 pm, so we’ll see how it goes.

PS: Odnas, are you the one who uses the SA3 remy often?

Haha yeah.

I am not sure how often I can make it to ucsd (cabinet is horrible sorry!) but if anyone is down to get better and willing to drive maybe 20 mins from campus hit me up.

I am not the best teacher, but I can play most of the cast well enough to show you some things.

I’m down for that, but how far do you live from campus? Is it far away enough that the UCSD bus pass won’t work? Otherwise, I’m down for carpooling.

i dont know anything about sd public transportation.

Oh damn! Two weeks from now is a 3 day weekend I think it’s President’s day or something, I’m totally down for some games.

i live around UCSD,
i can only come at night though seeing I have work.
i’m down anytime maybe 6:30? just let me know

We have an arcade?

Anyways, I’m terrible at 3S, I can’t even parry decently. Actually, I just started getting into Street Fighter seriously just now… so yeahh…

Uhh… anyways, if anyone ever wants to locally play HD Remix I’m down. I get my stick this wednesday so I’ll probably dip into 3S mame then join you guys.

And uhh… oh yeah, first post.

I’m down for hd remix. I’ve been trying to learn dat sf2. I usually just play my housemate’w dhalsim. He’s good. There’s a chun player in la regencia. Apparently he’s also good.

Oh, I can’t really go of campus and shizz cause I don’t have a car down here… =(

But I wanna improve my 3S and HD Remix, so if anyone’s down, I don’t mind hauling ass around campus with my stick.

a chun in la regencia? hm… I know a dudley in la regencia but i have yet to meet the chun. maybe they know each other. I’ll ask him. I do know, however, that there is this guy trying to pick up chun at the game room, but i hardly run into him anymore. that may be him, but who knows.

And dmc, do you visit after work every day, or only on certain days? If you come today, I can meet up with you.

And welcome Xerym.

Edit: you live on campus xerym? that would make meeting up a lot easier. from what i know about people who host, they just say the time and place and whoever wants to go will go. But you probably live with roommates, so be mindful of them too.

2nd edit: and our arcade isn’t really that big of an arcade - it’s inside shoguns, which is in price center.
