UCSD 3rd Strike is now DEAD. RIP

yet he STILL tears it up in the tourney scene:nunchuck:

thx chris. i do my best. :smokin:

ok tonight im down, nickel city? what time?

hi! :wgrin:

I’m going to be at UCSD later on this week (Thur or Fri most likely) and want to play some 3S. Any day/time is fine. Just let me know. Do you guys play at a house, or on campus?

flight, donutholes and i will probably go there at 5, see you there if you go

going tonight around 9

Which day?

I just started at UCSD. I’m not very good at 3s but I always enjoy playing. I might drop by once in a while.

ggs to nnnnnnnnnn (dunno how many n’s), Let Blood Run, donutholes, and dmc.

finally got to see what dmc was talking about… LBR is ridiculous. x]

thanks for the ride, dmc.
and thanks to LBR for hosting a 3S session at his home.

^EDIT^
dash-up SAI, ftw. watch out for it guys! x]

ggs to everyone tonight, and thanks to LBR for letting us use his place. Only got off one dash in > hyperbomb (lol was it on you dmc?) I think, looks like my trashy alex will have to become trashier ;o And thanks for the ride dmc. You sure you don’t want gas money?

awww weak… I was bored all day yesterday. Didn’t know there was 3s going on -_-. Any of you playing today or monday? xD

if you’re into the “confirm” thing
you should do low short -> hayate -> SA1
it does less damage, but in the event that you miss
you have 2 cases
case 1 - you get punished, so don’t even try it on a chun, do it on ppl like yun
without bar, since the punish is fairly small

case 2 - super anyway, because the super will come out faster than
most of the other punished (except for like a shoryuken i think)
this becomes a good mix up because your oppoents dont’ know if they
should punish you or not, don’t abuse it though.

what is this i see?!? more people for some of dat 3rd strike? not bad, not bad…

i only have one PC-compatible stick, so the campus machine will probably be best.
how are you for this friday? i have no classes that day and have tons of free time. x]
though, i guess my “free time” is solely limited on how quickly you make me eat my quarters. :nunchuck:

but, dude, dash up -> SAI is so cool. i’m 2/2 for landing it. x]

like those who play ST, we just CAAAAN’T let go.

flight maybe we should have a trash competition,
i dunno like chun, dash up / wake up sa2 lol that would make no sense

An unfortunate heads up:

2P side’s jab button won’t work. I told the gameroom staff to contact Chad (guy who runs the arcade cabs) to fix it, but I have a feeling that it’s not going to happen immediately.

On a more happier note: I’m planning to get 3s somehow for ps2. But whether I can host or not is questionable. I have this one roommate who always studies in the living room and would prefer to have less distractions (I think he likes it out there rather than his room).

i got it… you, me, Makoto, SAI.
play the match normally. but if someone is able to land a dash-up SAI… umm… well, think of something. something in terms of dollar-menus, 'cause i’m broke.

Chad is a saint. i only wish, that he take the buttons and stick from the MvC machine and transplant them to the 3S machine. NO ONE plays Marvel 1. not here at least. i look over at those pristine buttons and the good feeling stick and feel jealous.

dude… just emulate 3S on your PC. x]
closer to arcade speed… i think… maybe.
actually, maybe it isn’t. because, i swear, i have about THREE different timings in my head for Makoto’s karakusa -> Fierce -> Hayate BnB.
when playing on my notebook (not GGPO, just regular arcade), i have to hit Fierce a good amount of time before the feet hit the ground.
when playing PS2, i have to wait for the opponent to hit the ground, then press fierce.
when playing on the UCSD cab (and i’m guessing the Nickel Arcade cab), it’s earlier than the PS2, but later than PC emulated.

it’s driving me bonkers. :looney:

Psh. The world needs less makoto players anyway ;o Besides, I’m getting the anniv. edition that LBR had (cuz that’s the only way to get it) and I think that one played just fine.

As for Chad replacing it, it’s not him I doubt but the people who said they would contact him for us. Chad would do it because their his machines and he gets income from it. Those who run the gameroom probably don’t care as much because it’s not their biggest line of profit.

Edit: SF4 just doesn’t cut it for us Lionheart D: I swear, they’re probably gonna re-introduce parries in SF4.x or SF5 lol

It seems I’ll be coming down Thursday. Will bring my mas stick if somebody has a DC/PS2 (I have dual ports). Sucks about the jab button on the arcade.

btw, just throwing it out there. I have 3s for ps2 in my dorm along with cvs2, and mvc2 for dreamcast. If anyone on campus wants to play. I have a stick too.
