I’ll definitely be at the tourney. Not sure if I’m going to enter yet, depends on who the competition is and how the tourney is structured to run.

At this point I think I’m the only one who’s not really interested in the Gamestop tournament or the Frat 360 tournament. I’ll go for a bit but I won’t play at the frat one. The cvs2/3s/mvc2/sf2 tournament sounds a lot better though I’m guessing it’ll be a smaller turnout. I’ll definitely join that one and I hope all of you guys do too.

looks like all the gamestops tourneys are gonna use pad
with that being said…if i join the tourney, should i use zangief? i really don’t know how to use him well and i doubt i can do 360s very well on a pad…mash lariat is coo and all but i dunno how far playing super scrubby is gonna get me against people who are probabyl gonna do the same tactic.
i was thinking of maybe using sagat? i have a lot of problems doing uppercuts on reaction with a pad…soo…i dunno… but fireball trap is always really strong. plus i have a good feel for sagat’s game.
then…lastly…learn Cviper or abel and just mix people the hell up with very basic shit and not worry about execution?

You might win the first round with a lot of lariating, but once you get past the first round, people are going to cripple you with fireball spam if you don’t know how to get in. Allan, just stick with Sagat. You have experience with him, and you can do an uppercut well enough. Just practice it for 2 hours at most on pad, and then you’re ready to go. Don’t be Viper or Abel. It’s too late to change now.
Edit: Besides, if you meet some lariating spamming scrub, block, wait for the second turn, and then uppercut. Practice that and you’re set. If you’re that worried, go get a ride to my place or David’s. We’ll get some practice in. Besides, we haven’t seen you in ages.
The 360 analog stick is honestly not that bad for SF4! Now, the lack of a six button layout, that’s gonna be what kills you.
do you guys have ps3? i got the TE stick for ps3.

i might learn cviper now that i have training mode. but gonna stick with sagat for tournies (gonna learn dp on pad =/…that sounds kind of sad to say that)

David’s place has decent parking. Park on the outside curb of the complex. Not sure about Sean’s place.
You can do dp shortcut motions which might save you some trouble. I don’t think it’s hard to do motions on a pad, it just a bit longer to complete motions compared to a stick.

Yeah, I have a Ps3. Parking at my place is decent. JUST. WHATEVER. YOU. DO. DO NOT PARK AT THE APARTMENTS NEXT TO FOUNTAIN CIRCLE. YOU WILL GET YOUR CAR TOWED. The apartments next to mine are something Oak. Just park right outside of my apartment and you will be safe. I also have a TE stick, so we’re on even ground here. Plan a date if you want, and we can practice. David’s place has fine parking. If you can get directly in front of his apartment, you always got the parking spaces further out, but it’s not too far out. Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.
