Could be like me and just watches what other people do and then try to emulate the same combos and moves. I don’t read srk forums or post in them except for this one. I look at the wiki from time to time to see the bnbs.
New quarter approaching. We gotta start up bi-weeklys or ranking battles and put ourselves on the tournament map. Pretty soon Modesto, Stockton, Vallejo, Sac and Fairfield will be dropping by to represent :P.

GGs on Saturday night. I can’t believe I had 104 wins (capped out at 99) and then MUGA closed.
All I got to say is that Sagat is soooo good in this game, I finally got all of his DP cancel combos to ultra down… sooo strong O_O.
Who needs to work 10x harder with a shitty character when you can DP ultra your way to victory?

Yo, Im finally home. Yeah, I was there when Popo went streaking with Sagat. Crazy stuff. I had a 60 with Guile before he arrived. Just in time too, I dont wanna play him. lol. I wont be back till the 27th to work so if anyone wants to play, Ill be there at around 3ish (I hope Popo doesnt show up though, lol - but seriously).
Ive been working on Guile lately. It’s just a really bad version of Popo’s. But it would be fun to play him in a Guile mirror match. He’s the only Guile who’s ever beaten me in one.

Oh god, I must be the only Davis SRK user now who can’t dash cancel properly.
The last time I tried to do it:
“Shoryuken!”, “Come on DC…”, “Yeah! Got it off bitches!”, “No! Where’s the super hadouken?!”
I think I need some practice on a home console to get dash cancels down.
Also tournaments, I wouldn’t mind having at least one this quarter. We can find out who’s the best SF4 player (after popo of course lol)
It was with Sagat. I want to get one with Honda, but my Honda sucks 
I can do both pretty consistently now. If someone jumps in at you, either way your going to win doing a trade-DP (f+hk ultra) or DP cancel ultra.
You shouldn’t rely on just that… you should rely on stuff like dash up DP, cancel into dash, then another DP cancel into ultra :woot:
I managed to get some c.lk c.lk c.lp DP cancel f+HK -> ultras in, but that combo is a pain in the ass… I think the hardest thing is to realize the location of the fall after you hit them with the DP… just requires reaction timing. Many people always miss the f+HK after DP cancel because of that… or greed
Hey MSG, how are ya?
To be really honest, I think there are only a handful of Guile players in Japan who are decent, and even less who are amazing (Master rank). And the funny thing is that the really good Guile players are people who have played Guile for a long time in another SF game, namely SuperTurbo. He’s almost an exact clone replica of his ST days with an overhead. Guile standalone is a really bad character with not many options at all in this game, the reason those few select players are so good at their character is because of the fact that they developed really fast reaction timing, insane patience and risk/reward tactics.
The most important thing if your seriously considering playing Guile is being able to get the charges for sonic booms at the fastest possible times, and in the most awkward situations. After that, it’s just building reaction timing and patience. You have to know your capabilities, most importantly, to build these up. These two will take a veryyyy long time to be honest =(. (Luckily I played ST for awhile, and even from my first SF game, I’ve been playing charge characters eg: Honda, Guile, so that’s how I learned) So yeah man, best of luck. If you want to pick up someone else to learn advanced basics, I think a character like Ryu/Dictator/Sagat are good choices. Even Boxer, too.
On another related note, it sucks how there isn’t a card system associated with SF4 here, like in Korea or Japan. It’d be nice to have alt. costumes and color schemes for your characters T_T.
