Somethings wrong with the game settings it seems. Super armor is not going up on ex moves correctly. I got snuffed out of an ultra and 2 ex dash punches today by just regular hadoukens. Are there settings that can be changed because ex dash punches should be able to absorb one hit and keep going?
I don’t see a reason to implement a 10 win streak -> next player rule. Naturally some people are going to beast on this cabinet and thems the breaks. The only way you could allow noobs to have equal level competition is to buy another set of cabinets, put it in the corner and label it as the scrub nook.
As far as the “competitor” token line, it’s a clusterfuck. If possible I think it’d be awesome to see a single coin holder on the side inbetween the two cabinets with some sort of system to actually keep track of who is next. Too much “but I was waiting for like EVER” “but I was here forever and a day” etc etc. Maybe a whiteboard or making sure people put their coins in sequence so they can remember what number they are, whatever. Anything is better than nothing.
Word on the street is that Davis became that much more of “the place to go” for some matches. I guess me and my boy might pop in, even if no one shows up, for some SF4. I’m definitely down for some MVC2 and SF4, do yall even got GGXXAC over there? That would make my night, despite how bad it was…:wgrin:
Can’t blame me for dreaming lol. Oh well, i’m content with what it does have for the moment. This should prove very fun. With that being said, i need to learn all the god damn controls for SF4. Can’t be getting my ass beat for near a damn dollar every time i’m trying to learn this shit for like two rounds. C. VIPAH! Here i come! :wgrin:
Like Kevin said, only focus attacks absorb 1 hit(MP+MK). El Fuerte’s EX Running Special can also absorb 1 or 2 hits depending on timing, but I’m not sure if any other moves have this property.
You need to show up tomorrow Matt, I think you’re the only regular I didn’t get a chance to play against. I’ll be there sometime after 3:00 PM.
Matt/Kevin: When do you guys show up to MUGA on Monday?
What I’m really hoping from SF4 is that we get the people around our area to show up again like Tanaka or the crazy Sacramento people.
Sean: I’d take you up on it, but I don’t have an arcade stick with me currently and I’m kinda swamped with classes. Maybe next quarter?
Does anyone know where I can look over some SF4 strategy? I didn’t even know about “saving system”, “revenge combo”, “focus attacks” or that there were EX moves till today lol. I would go around the SRK SF4 forum but, there’s way too much stuff over there for me to follow on. Here’s hoping they make a shoryuwiki for SF4
And yeah, the focus attacks seem to only absorb one hit. When I see my crouching forward get absorbed, I just try to cancel into an EX.
Dude, I seriously did that same way of thinking during my first SF4 tourney. After getting my ass beat REALLY bad the first run through, i just ran to ryu I’m not really heavy into the female fighters in fighting games, but something about that chick i just dig. How are the sticks/buttons over there? Working fine i hope >.<
Wait, do I know you? Or are you talking about another Sean? Sorry if I don’t remember you, bro.
Well, some people were complaining about the stick, but I found it easy to use. I believe the stick is Edit: What sleazoid said. The buttons seem to be korean? I use the street fighter anniversary stick, so I’m used to buttons that, uh, “hurt” (according to other players). When I press these buttons, I don’t even feel them. There’s no big red button of doom feeling, but it seems easy enough for me. I dig them.
We just got the cabinet today (well, technically yesterday but you know what I mean)… everything better be working fine
As Kevin said, the sticks are Korean, so they’ll probably feel a little weird to you. I noticed a lot of people were getting accidental high jumps when doing quarter circles…
Buttons are Seimitsu, I think. Smaller than your average button, but the layout still feels fine (feels pretty good, actually).
Lol thanks Coopa. I guess some aren’t used to the difference compared to whatever they were used to using at home or on other game cabs. Me myself just barely got a stick and am working my way into the arcade scene (sac scene is dead arcade wise). I still play my DC fighters on the DC pad, so I know a thing or two about buttons that “hurt” Although its not as bad as everyone says.
Sleazoid, wow I hope they are still working since thats the case. I just hope I can get a chance to practice against a non-rape level player. I guess I have to be a little more active on the SF4 forum than I have been lately. I’m thinking of picking up Dictator if C. VIPAH doesn’t work out, lol. If my buddy doesn’t have school tomorrow (I can’t remember for the life of me, sadly) I’m going to see about heading down for a SF4/MVC2/whatever-the-hell-else session.
