You guys are talking about cvs in a 3rd strike thread?? Interesting.
There is a Career Fair this Thursday on campus from 10-2 and I will be at the MUGA afterwards. Where are all my Davis folks at? **Dan **- MUGA employee, **Zim **- it’s been a while buddy, **Venkitty **- are you still around?
CVS action
Oh yeah, if you are interested in the agency I am recruiting for its Seneca Center. It’s a non profit agency providing mental health services for children and families in the Bay Area. We are looking for Counselors. Graduating seniors and anyone with a BA in any field can apply. Check us out.
Tony, I thought I heard that you started your own after school program or something?
I won’t be able to stop by on Thursday, as I’ll be working at the hospital, but good luck with the career fair and beasting on these CVS bitches. If your around i’ll be there on wednesday and friday.
Any of you cvs players that want some real comp need to show up on thursday.
but we should have some sort of og players reunion/tourney (reminiscent of the university battle days), and show these new kids whats up. i AM old school now right? : )
Hahaha. I finally gave up and succumbed to K groove. I took whatever I learned from 3s and put it into Cvs2 and it works oddly enough. GGs to everyone I played which was: Jack, that vega person, that… other person… that other person… and that other person. I’m bad with names, but come enough times and remind me enough, and I’ll remember.
SF4 is in the works. The order has been sent to our business office, and we need the approval of one more individual. After that approval it should be another couple of weeks. This is not a cheap machine, its gonna cost around 22 grand for head to head cabinets, so I better not hear any complaining about it being set on 3 tokens or I’ll have Marty kick your ass.
Blazblu and TvC are both possibilities depending on how smooth the SF4 purchase goes, as we would be using the same distributor, whom we haven’t dealt with before.
If MvC2 has some weird Naomi error on bootup, just unplug it and plug it back in, this should work. I believe this error is due to a power supply issue, we have ordered a new one and it should be in midweek.
I would like to start tourneys up in November as my clinicals will be on the weekends and my work load will decrease, so we can throw something together for like wednesday or thursday nights. If you want to have tourneys on the weekend then someone step up and say they are willing to run it.
Where the hell has Tanaka been, someone give him a call.
Venkitty, and Tony (bring your big headed Korean friend too) come out for the tourneys
The kits themselves would cost about 14 grand. We are importing some head to head LCD cabs from japan as well, I assume kitted out with jap buttons and sticks. But yes I believe it is 22 grand after tax and air shipping from japan.
good stuff dan! i have faith in the muga to make up the 22 grand in like a month with all the business it gets… keep the jap sticks/buttons on sf4 please? : )
i will be there for tourneys if you can manage to make them on weekends, though i know that may be hard with muga reservations. make it a monthly big tourney or something.
Please note that the order has not been completed on SF4, we are still awaiting approval, as soon as it is made I will update everyone. So don’t go talking shit to sfstate or sjsu stating were gonna dominate them as SF4 may not arrive.
We will keep whatever buttons and sticks it arrives with though, probably some sanwa buttons/sticks with really long names and a bunch of hyphens.
Tourneys on the weekends are hard, the muga often has full facility reservations for student organizations, and like I said, I can’t run em, but find somebody who can and maybe we can have monthlies.
I can’t say that I’m too happy to hear that the SF4 machine will likely be a Japanese head to head set-up. I’m tall and I think it would be really uncomfortable, not too mention the nubby sticks. But if that’s how it has to be then that’s how it has to be…at least it’s SF4.
**Ok so I have decided on 90% of everything. :lovin::woot:
So we will have 4-man teams per game.
It will cost $15/person, so $60/team. So stack that cheeze~:wgrin:
— So a one school can have six 4-man teams.
Players can play more than one game.
Of course they’d pay for each game they play.
The University Battle shall be held on the 1st saturday of the New Year.
Saturday, January 3rd 2009, @ 2:30
I have yet to have choosen a campus at which to hold it at.
Most likely it’ll take place at either SJSU or SFSU.
The games played will be:
CVS2
3rd Strike
MVC2
GGAC
SF4
and if they have it by then Tekken 6.:wonder:
I also want to get some sort of sponsoring. At the least I’d like to get some T-shirts and mayyybbbbe some free grub… So if anyone can help me out with that, or just point me in the right direction. I’d be most thankful.
Also since there will be a lot of duties that will need to be delegated. I’ll need some helpers/lackeys to assist with the tournament running. :wgrin:
Any willing and able volunteers out there?**
blackrob, make the entries a little cheaper than $15/person to encourage more new players to go, and to make it a more lively event. i suggest maybe just $5 per person, (so $20 per team). dont worry, you can still “stack the cheese” (or lose it to me), in money matches : )
heres some ideas for some of the teams. whoever is interested (or listed below and not interested) in joining a team for a game can post up here, and perhaps playoffs can be used to determine spots if people are hungry.
